I like the wheels on your white Cayman R, The serial number should be on your registration document and on a small plate behind your front windshield.
Enjoy!
I had the same wheels on mine. recently put them in storage for a little lighter weight track wheel.
Really interesting thread. Thanks for all the time and effort.

Apparently originally kept in Germany, and owned by Porsche AG until mid 2015 when it was imported to the U.K (well after the 987 cars had been superseded) with just 82 miles on the clock (service records show it at Porsche Berlin in February that year - serviced on the company’s account). Now with 5k miles, purchased from a specialist (non-Porsche) dealer in Yorkshire. Interestingly, on presenting the car for its first MoT test (UK safety test, due annually after three years) in October 2016, I found that the car still had original LHD xenon lights and these had to be replaced to RHD units (ouch - expensive) to meet UK requirements - even though the car is C16 specification.
i absolutely adore the Caymen R and have wanted one since they were current. I did try examples with the bucket seat option - and I didn’t fit them that well! The PDK gearbox suits me too. It sits alongside a 1988 Carrera 3.2 Sport (48k Miles) and a 2008 Boxster RS60 Spyder (manual - 16k Miles). Just had to buy this example “as new” Cayman R as I am sure I will never find a better one.
Sad to say, there is one less Cayman R in the world (and now 623 in North America?). You can run nose-to-tail at Watkins Glen at 130+mph with skilled PCA drivers all weekend without any problem, but get it on the street, and you roll the dice. My first time driving it to work after my WG track weekend, a moron in a Lexus LX570 heading the opposite direction decided he didn't want to sit in traffic, and tried to pull a U-turn. I'm doing 40mph up the road, and he obviously wasn't looking... I had almost no time to react:
It was almost head-on, but we rotated upon impact. Sadly, it was totaled. That car used to be:
1. 792079
2. 2/2011
3. Black
4. PDK
5. Carbon fiber sport seats...Yes
6. Maryland
7. US
Just know you all own a very strong car. Except for a stiff neck and burn on my wrist from the airbag, I was fine. And on the bright side, State Farm did a pretty solid job in the end, and I got a fair valuation for it (including my upgrades, after some back-and-forth). That allowed me to buy a new one:
1. 793383
2. 11/2011
3. Platinum Silver Metallic
4. Manual
5. Carbon fiber sport seats...Yes
6. Maryland
7. US
The Cayman R by any standard is a unique and excellent sports car. It was a special model in part because of it's cherished Porsche factory R designation. The R was only built in 2011 and was marketed as a 2012 model year. It is estimated....(no one seems to know for sure) that there were only 1421 Cayman R produced for sale world wide. It would be nice to know where they are, when they were produced, color, PDK or manual, and carbon fiber buck seats or not. We could probably track much more but I wanted to keep it simple. More detail and pictures and certainly welcome! I am suggesting that all the world wide Cayman R owners post the following information. I will track the information and post it periodically...say ever 25 posts or so so that everyone can see the results. It may also serve as a way to connect to other R owners in your area.
Lets see what happens. You can find information on the cars decals or certificate of sale. Post what you can....
1. post the last 6 digits of your Vin Number
2. date of manufacture
3. color
4. PDK or Manual
5. Carbon fiber sport seats...Yes or no
6. Your Province, State, City or District
7. Country
