Spyder wind deflector keeps coming unhinged
Any Spyder owners out there experience the same? The passenger side clip comes unhinged probably once a day, usually after I drive over uneven pavement that causes the body to twist. I find it annoying to have to constantly reach behind me to clip it back in place.
Evidently there aren't enough owners complaining because the dealer says there's no factory fix coming.:-/

My understanding is that there is a recall on the wind deflectors but it only affects certain cars. I know of a local Spyder owner that had his deflector completely fly off on the highway. I would get your car to the dealer and mention the recall. Maybe try a different dealer or mention the recall.....

This can happen if the wind deflector doesn't click into place properly (fully). In my S, the wind deflector would become unhinged on one side at highway speeds. I didn't notice this initially because I rarely use the wind deflector (it pretty much stays parked in the garage).
Dealer replaced the wind deflector with a new one under warranty, and problem solved.
I'd try this approach with your dealer.

When I had my Spyder, the first thing I did was remove the wind deflector and put it in the garage cabinet. I have never found them of any benefit. Of course, I keep the windows down when the top is off too. I also removed and stored the stupid mesh things in the roll hoops. I dislike anything that can limit visibility out the back.

Its a common problem. Myself and two other Spyder owners that are in my region have the same problem with one side coming unhooked. We discovered that the wind resistance would cause some minor vibrations and the clip would start to edge its way down until the clip let go. I finally had enough and drilled a small hole near the side of each clip and put in a retaining screw. Problem solved. The wind deflector really works and I have it in place all the time. There is no reason to frequently put it on or off anyway.

Afshin, I do not (notice any difference with the windows down) but others may have different opinions. I tried different set-ups with my S before deciding that the center wind deflector is useless with the top and windows down. YMMV...

Are you sure you have it latched on correctly? I remember not putting it on properly once and it got loose. It's not just the snap up top that holds it. There's also a notch on the bottom.
