Thanks, Steve! Yeah, I don't think many people think that JDM parts work well on a Porsche. It's why I got a great deal on these wheels. They've been sitting around forever because no Porsche buyers think it will work.

As a sexy street wheel, I don't think it's the best choice. As a cool track wheel, I think it works really well.

I can weigh the wheel/tire combo and get back to you guys

I considered those wheels (in black) a couple of times. (MR2 supercharger and Boxster S). They look better on your car... minus the decals.

Thanks for weighing them.

Yes, the stickers are my inner 'rice' showing itself again. I can't help it. There's another set I want to try out that I think works well with the side Porsche stripe....

Just weighed the wheel/tire combos:
Front: 44 lb
Rear: 50 lb

Anybody know what the stock weights are? I'll weigh my stock 19" with PS2s the next time I take them off. They might be slightly skewed since they're worn down.

which one? On the sticker set, I always thought that the boxster spyder script on the sills could be purchased at suncoast and transferred to where the current script sits. I'll prolly try that once the stickers get knackered. Which inevitably will happen with time.

In fact, as it is I am thinking of using the sill stickers in place of the plastic decal on the boot lid just because it attracts so much dirt and cleaning it is a hassle.

stickers I'm looking at are still made by Volk/Rays, just different style. I'll post pics when I get them. The sill stickers in place of the plastic decal is an interesting idea. I agree that cleaning around that plastic emblem is a pain.

Nice, but I needed 18" wheels. I wouldn't budge on the need for 18" wheels because I wanted to run the NT01s.

Those look great Joe. I really like the white-on-white and the "chunky" style... not too delicate.

Quick update:

I took the spyder to the track with it's new TE37/NT01 combo. Loved it. My lap time at Laguna went from 1:51 down to 1:45. Obviously it wasn't all just the tire. My PS2s were very unpredictable, which did not help with confidence. Much different with the NT01s.

I'm STILL waiting for the sticker set I ordered for the wheels to come in. If they every come in, I will take pictures.

In regards to wheel/tire combo weights. Despite the TE37s being lighter, the overall package is HEAVIER. The NT01s are 10mm wider all around and must be significantly heavier than the PS2s.
TE37/NT01 combo: Front-44lb Rear-50lb
Stock spyder wheel/worn down PS2 tires: Front-41.5lb Rear-46.5lb

BTW, these wheels in white actually look BETTER when they're dirty. LOL

Awesome! I just finished my second day with NT01's. They are amazing!! I dropped 3 seconds on a 1.1 mile track. I was keeping up with and/or slightly faster than two guys with 996 GT3's who are both very good drivers. I followed one for a while, then let he let me by and he followed me for a while. We couldn't pass each other without help - pretty evenly matched. I opened some eyes that day.

One guy asked me if I put a supercharger in the car! Nope, just the magic of a Cayman!

Yeah, I've never heard anyone complain about NT01s. Much better than your old RE-11s, right?

I have a set of the Victor Innsbruck wheels in 10x18 and 8x18. I first had NT01's on them for track and they were great tires in my opinion. The weight was roughly the same for the entire combo of wheels and tires vs the stock 19" Spyder wheel with the stock rubber. I think it might have saved 2 or 4 pounds overall (for all 4 not each) if I remember right. The wheels are "roll forged" I think is the term used for them. Different than the other Victor wheels. I am pretty happy with them. They seem to be pretty strong considering I hit the front of the inside curb of turn 10 at VIR where there was a little "pot hole" pretty hard. I thought for sure the wheel would be bent but it doesnt seem to be at all.
I wore the outer edges of the front tires because I had very little neg camber. So I had an alignment done and I decided to try the Hankook z214's. They are faster than the nitto's for sure.
At VIR on the full course I was running 2:10's and 2:11's back in May. That was on a very mild alignment with hardly any neg camber. I did do the GT3 front sway bar and Tarret rear bar though.
Last month I had a more aggressive alignment (i think 2.5 degrees neg camber up front) and on the Hankooks I was running consistent 2:08's and 2:09's with a couple 2:07's thrown in.
I was very impressed with this car! It is probably the most fun Porsche street car I have ever owned.
