Another PSE Question

My Spyder has the standard exhaust. Roughly $3K to have PSE installed by my dealer. My question is: why would I choose PSE over any other after market exhaust? Cost is not a concern. Is the only advantage of PSE is that it is supported by Porsche, doesn't void my warranty, shouldn't have CEL etc? In other words, the PSE is hassle free versus other exhausts.

Yes, PSE is hassle free and you get the nice OEM sport exhaust button to change sound level. Those are the 2 advantages. Disadvantages are that no power is made, no weight savings, and it might not be loud enough for certain people.

You have already noted most of the advantages but another nice feature is the fact that you can shut it off. It's nice to have when trying to sneak past a cop, sneak out of the house or just keep the noise down if you want to. It also doesn't drone at any speed, not sure about the aftermarket exhausts.
Having said that I really like the Remus Titanium exhaust and if I didn't have PSE I would debate heavily which one I would prefer.

I'm considering switching to a Tubi exhaust myself. The remus isn't loud enough. Tubi is nice because it's supposed to be louder AND I can re-use my OEM black spyder exhaust tips to keep that OEM look.

Not sure what they sound like on our Spyders but mine sounded awsome on my 996. Tubi is a quality product.

No one has really mentioned it but PSE sounds really good too. Granted I haven't been in another Spyder which has an aftermarket exhaust so I have nothing to compare against other than the standard exhaust.

But, let's say you took your still-under-warrent car into Porsche and had the PSE installed under the Tequipment process, it would be covered under warrenty (not sure how long.....maybe 12-24 months....mileage??). Hope this helps.

I decided on the Tubi for the all same reasons you did (plus the positive experience with the 246), though I'm having it Jet-Hot/ceramic coated, which in my experience mutes some of the resonance, boom and high frequency metallic sounds.

Will do.
How close to SharkWerks are you? That's where my car is. I can give you a head's up when Alex finishes (exhaust is being drop-shipped to jet-hot - probably a week or two turnaround). You could hear it before I do, since I have to fly up to pick it up.

Reeeally.... Sharkwerks is a quick 40 minute drive from me. Give me a heads up, I definitely want to hear it. The bad thing is, after I hear it, I might have to empty my bank account further...
