Engine Hours Meter

Default Engine Hours Meter

New to the Boxster and I would like to install an hours meter to record time on the engine. Total run-time at any RPM. I have installed the VDO meter in the dash along with oil pressure and temperature gage.

Where can I find a good pickup point for the hours meter?

Ah, just wait until the engine explodes. Then you know it's time for a new one.

Yes, that is always a sign that something is wrong. But it would be cool to be able to say; my engine blew at four hundred and twenty seven hours...

An hour meter wouldn't work on any car I'm driving. I'm just too fast.

Don't make me post the sleeping-bag-jacket-muumuu picture. I think that outfit bends spacetime. And causes nausea.

The ECU keeps track of engine hours. You can use durametric to read it.

If you have an AiM logger, it will also tracks time and mileage.

The faster you go, the slower time moves. So are you saying you need a calendar to measure your lap times?

As you can see coming from the 911 board to the Spec Boxster board will take some adjustment
