Default a couple SPB questions if you dont mind...

1. what dash technologies are SPB folk using? looking for something simple, with good data acqusition and analysis, some shift lights? do these 1999 SPBs have Can for RPM, shift lights? or reading off the coil, etc. ?

2. anyone have an of the rear wheels for sale? 17 x 8.5 17 x 8.5 - 17x8.5 , ET 50 for sale? feel free to PM me on any of this if you so desire.

thx and cu out there.

Traqdash and Aim will be the most common. RPM's can be picked up in the OBD port.

Rear wheels are literally gold to SPB racers, you would find many for sale amongst them. My suggestion is eBay. That's what I do.

thanks. how are you getting RPM, oil pressure or water pressure? tend to like to know if water pressures goes to zero. any of those sensors come through that odb connection?
does AIM or traqmate have a odb interface?

Purple wire green stripe(or maybe its green wire, purple stripe?) in the OBD port into the sensor box for the Traqmate. Sensor box for Traqmate can handle up to 6 sensors I believe. Put external sensors in oil line for oil pressure and same for water pressure. Traqmate has up to three warning light that can be set for thresholds. Traqdash can be set to display gauge's for both. Aim does this a similar way. No OBD interface from either.

from traqmate's site: SPB Boxster (1997-1999), you can attach to the purple/green wire either from the OBD II port or the tachometer. But the module must set for "coil" mode, not "ECU" mode.

so it sounds like you like the traqmate a bit more? which modules do you have? how hard were they to get installed? di dyou buy the inlne oil and water pressure sensors from them? or do they have recommended sensors. ? thx for answering the questions if you can. figured it saves me starting from zero and heading the wrong way. thx.

What they said ^^^^^ plus I have mounted in the dash a Longacre 3 gauge oil pressure, oil temp and water temp set-up (electronic no oil lines etc) mounted on a carbon fiber panel. Each gauge has programable warning lights too...

very sweet. are those sensors for the Longacre tied into your traqmate so you can later review pricesely when/where yo umigth have had pressure issues or just straight up warnings? very nice setup.

The sensors are not tied into my Traqmate... the Longacre gauges have adjustable set points... depending on which gauge you can set multiple points / progressive levels of nearing a problem. For example the oil pressure gauge will flash... you can't miss it... you can adjust the color from red or blue... red for the oil pressure , blue for the water...

which sensors did you use? where did you plumb them in?
i think im going to go with an AIM setup and just want to get all the ducks in a row. id like the sensors to go through AIM so i can log when how where they get set off, etc. aim has an assortment. just curious if anyone who has done this with AIm and AIM sensors would be so kind to share.

thanks again for all the great tips. much appreciated.

Default seat slider rule

read the seat sldier rule. couple of questions:
1. can i used a OMP seat slider in the Boxster which is not a cup car one but one for the aftermarket OMP HTE seats, in particular the OMP provided one?

https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/pr...asp?RecID=5885

its not as beefy as the one in my cup car, but its pretty solid. the cup car one doesnt fit in my car. the OMP one does.

can i use that slider or do i have to fix it to the floor?

granted i know its not applicable till 2015 but rather deal with it now.

Glad to hear its coming together. Look forward to seeing at NJMP, if I get my car fixed by then. Hopefully it's off to the body shop at the end of this week.

Let us know how the DMTD event goes in it and how the car goes.

Looks like one of its sister car's will be at NJMP. Nick Benz has a green TuneRS car like your white car.

Putting any graphic's on your car Steve?
