Real cup car or fake?
I normally go to 6speedonline regarding P cars but I think Rennlist has more participation on their favs. I need help from the experts here thank you. A friend took me to an old barn like garage and showed me a real dirty white 964 with stickers that says Carrera Cup, white fully welded cage, quick release Momo, tight Recaros, appeared lowered but not slammed, camber out, some telemetry equipment and antenna. What's a definite clue that the car is a real Cup Car and not put together by some wannabes? It has has 23.5k plus miles and the title says 1992 911 Carrera 2 / Carrera 4/ RS America. Clean title and no accidents on record. The car is real dirty meaning dusty for sitting for god knows how long, no visible rust, of course dead battery, no dings nor scratches. I didn't pull the trigger yet but gave a substantial cash deposit to an independent 3rd party pending me viewing the original title and verified it's the real thing. thanks for any input.

It's a white 92, so that's a good start! This should help: https://rennlist.com/forums/964-foru...-vin-list.html

I actually went back today and brought a magnet with me it didn't work on the hood! (meaning it's made of aluminum) it worked for the doors and deckled though I thought they're all aluminum maybe I'm wrong.

As as far as the car goes, if it’s not a real cup car then it would probably make a pretty fun track car but that’s about it IMO.

Did you read this part:
"392, 509 (the red pace car), 514, 573, 575 and 579-602 (less 582-584 and 594-599 out of sequence not Cup USA) were unconverted (2nd batch) and intended parts cars and in my opinion the best to own because they weren't monkeyed with and the trim etc is still as delivered from the factory. 45 cars total."
