not sure what they are, cheap stuff. i ruin them quickly so i dont buy the $$$ stuff
LOL
yes, love it. more than C60, F8, F10, ANY cipollini ( i have RB800, RB1000 and NK1K, fragile POS). i will try a urgestalt when wife leaves for vacation it's blk too, she wont know... EE brakes are iight and works great. but i think ULTRALIGHTS in whole bike version are sold out. if you are 54/56 i may know one still available. other wise you have to buy frame only and the ee brakes on UL has some special braket on them, i dont think you can just by eecyccleworks and fit them on the UL frame. this is one of my cheapest bikes and likely the lightest and best bike. prevoius tarmac SL5 i put 7000 miles on with one bad crash, no problem. cipollini, no crash, it blows itself up. 4 of them.

Thanks Mooty - appreciate the feedback on the S-works. Looking at a frame and I had heard you need a special version of the rear EE brakes on 54 size (and smaller) frames. Decisions, decisions now

i tried the Lakes. frankly, I LOVE the specialized Sub6 and Sworks6 new shoes. incredible. but BEFORE them, the previsou iteration of the sworks shoes did not have a tall toe box, didnt have that nice heel cup..and since i wear wide , they only make it in black which im ok with but not in love with. branding my chubby feet...
anyway, tried lakes. bought a set of those 400s? with the moldable heel cups and base...sucked. agreed. i hated the heelcups, unfortunately and too heavy literally 1/2 pound heavier than the specialized whichin shoes is the in worst place to be chunky. but i did try the 327? and they were a bit too big, but comfortable so i kept them. i leave them in the car with old neoprene scuba dive boot covers on them for those sub 30 days. the leather really helps and the extra space is perfect for the toe warmers which i put on top of my toes not under ...and i do really like them for that specific purpose. but all things considered, ive tried just about all the shoes out there. specialized i think are the best around, most ergo, lightest and dont overly break the bank.
i think mark @ westwood cycle might have a 54 in an UL. those EEEEEEEEEEE brakes are neat. not sure they are my favorite. sometimes when braking and corner or just hard breaking at a light, or a deer or bottom of a hill, they get a smidge grabby. nothing wild. and maybe its the new fork, or the dual bolting to the fork of the caliper. or im just being sensitive to them. but they are pretty nice. and light.
mark has one size 56 of that Sagan frameset which is insane looking. the ultralight uses like 40grams of paint like no paint whatsoever to save weight, those brakes, the specialized carbon crank, the clx32s etc. very nice stuff. the sagan frameset might weight 40 grams more, but its slick a hell looking.

Man, when I ride in 40 deg temp I thought I was fkg hero, and you doing 25 deg!
I have assos tights, knickers, and undershirts. They really do help.
I will have to do the Lake shoes again. I ordered a pair (kangaroo) but the heel cup doesn’t work on me. Maybe I didn’t bake it right. I do use shoe booties especially when wet.

Three Wheelin'
36 is quasi-Bahamas! went out today starting 29 and in the state park it was a brisk 21.5. finshed at 27. gets colder as you get later in the early morning before that ball of fire gets over the horizon . that said, i was toasty...had the 45North gloves on, nice cozy balaclava (always like that word because sounds like baklava which is a nice treat)...and winter undershirt, winter jserey, winter jacket. just last 20 minutes my feet get a tad cold, but that 45N stuff just rocks. granted, id love it to be 45, 50 but it aint, and it beats the inside rollers though i do love me some of that too....welcome to winter here on the east coast. and to you west coast guys with your pcars in your drive way with the windows open....jealousy is one emotion..the other, ill just internalize.

Colder Weather..
Did someone say its getting colder out? Time to take this in a more Nordic direction...
1. Cut down dead trees, split for firewood- check
2. Run trails in snow w poles- hillier is better- check
3. Partial road/trail ride on 29-er, stop for coffee- check
4. Get ready to install GMG half cage and seats in GT3 this weekend-check.
