ok the tranny is laying on the sway bar and lots of weight on it. I can loosen it but not sure how to remove it. Ivan, I am raising the car as I have the engine on my jack and dolly, raising the car slowly, I have a couple other photos of another plug in the back and some vacuum hoses that needed connected. what are they for? Also the cruise control cable I had to disconnect at the injection. I removed the 3 Phillips screws but nothing would come off.
I have the engine halfway down but don't want to continue with the sway bar in the way.

Randy ..you have to raise it and remove the the sway bar it will not come out otherwise. That is 6 bolts .The cruise control has on the end round cover which was held by the 3 philips screws .Use hand to get full throttle and the round plate will move away from the cruise control box there you will see the plastic clip .All you have o do is push it in and it will come out.
here like this....btw is this picture of the engine el.plug from your car ??I thought you have 1980 911...

Hi Ivan, have a 1980 911 SC yes, targa version. It has sport seats and sport suspension.
The yellow cover on cruise control mechanism I cannot remove after removing the 3 Phillips head. I have pulled on it but don't want to break it. I think the vacuum hoses from the pictures go to the cruise. Do you know what the plug is for in the photo I sent? I will remove the sway bar and then continue the drop. Thanks

When you drop the sway bar and remove the rear trany mounts it will drop and sits on the shift rod from transmission.Do not worry it is strong and it will not bend. Then you remove the bolts fro the engine and slowly let it down...
