You said earlier the upper balance shaft had a bad bearing. Do you think maybe there's a connection there? Maybe it was allowing oil that was supposed to go to the #2 rod to just escape back to the pan?

I did check that out Yesterday, And it Looks in great shape.
Scrape the nasty oil funk out of the hole around that broken stud and let it set in penetrating oil for a couple day, take a hammer and tap on it ever hour you can for those two days. Then clean the blocks deck and place down gorilla tap or something of the same to protect the block and use a really nice pair of vise grips and work the stud back and forth for as long as it takes to start working it loose. After it starts to loosen up you can work it out slowly by using a loosening and tightening method.

In the channel from the oil-pump and over to the Cranc,rods etc, there is a minor change where the oil goes to sylinder two, my mechanic has a tweak for this.
