As an owner of P cars on both sides of the atlantic I agree that the rear looks better with Euro plates. (Especially on aircooled that has bumperettes)
The front is still a bit of a problem. I have actually been running stickers on the front of my European cars. Don't want to drill the bumpers and afraid the plate will fly off doing 270km/h on the Autobahn.
Some countries in Europe actually allows personalized plates. Cost is about 600bucks and you choose what you want. Max 7 letters.
I used to run my plates as stickers in the early 2000's.. The cops got wise to it and started to give those of who did this tickets.. Stupid IMO, As the numbers & letters are more than clearly visible.. Front plate is a cash grab in my province..
was racing yellow ever used on a
classic porsche back in the day?
Nein. 'Racing Yellow' is a brand new color
formulated & introduced in 2011 for the
start of the .1 991 model production
(Fall of 2011). In the US, we first saw
an example in a Euro spec car brought
by PAG/PCNA to Rennsport IV that Fall
at Laguna Seca (CA):
'Racing Yellow' has quite a bit of green tint
that reminds many of the Lemon fruit:
And quite a contrast to the 'Speed Yellow' it
replaced in the standard PAG color palette:

Sad to hear.
The few times I've been pulled over they have been very understanding. I always mount a tow hook plate for inspection. Won't pass inspection with sticker only.
Does anyone know if the rear view camera can be used while driving on track? Might as well get full use of it once its mounted in the car? Keep seeing these nice screens during endurance racing.
I think that the lens on rear view cams are too wide angle to be of any use at speed.
I installed one on my Audi RingExpress Transporter because it was difficult to see what is directly behind when transporting car on it. I wish the lens was less wide angle because you don't see others unless they are rather close.
Saffron?? I suppose it might be.
But it kinda looks like old Signal
Yellow #114 to me.
Mike: This photo is probably digitally enhanced.
So we have yet to see how 'Saffron' looks to the
human eye. Indeed it looks like 'Signal Yellow' in
that photo...or 'Signal Orange'. I will venture to
guess that it will be less striking a hue in person.
But that is purely a speculation given my experience
with pearl & metallic paints! However if the 'Saffron'
color turns out to really look like this, it then would
explain why 'Signal Orange' was recently rejected
for PTS. It would be surprisingly close...

The 'Saffron' .2 991 gt3 photos are apparently taken from
an internet site posted by Will Lee in Instagram:
I am familiar with Ferrari's expensive optional color
'Giallo Triplo Strato'. And it's a bit 'too' intense &
'loud' for my taste.
This was the Ferrari color that Chaosoul mentioned as to
what perhaps PAG was shooting for with its new 'Saffron'
hue. But in my opinion, 'Giallo Triplo Strato' is a more
suitable color to an Italian 'Prancing Horse' than to the
'stud' which is the city of Stuttgart's symbolic Equus!
I really do not understand why PAG would do a .2 991 gt3
press car in 'Saffron' unless they intend to allow this new
color to be ordered on this gt model. But who knows what
PAG is up today re: paint colors!

I was thinking the same with the vinyl plate for the front but thought otherwise. Was pulled over with zero plate on the front and got a warning. Went to the tow hook type. Looks like sh$t but doesn't bother me anymore now. Definitely no drill holes for me.

Saludos,
Eduardo
Now back in Scottsdale
Thanks!
Looks like I can outsource/offload work to Eduardo
I might add that the 991.1 body shape resembles a lemon fruit too, especially in lemon color. The whole car is just a lemon. Eduardo may be a master at colors, but I am a master at shapes.
Cheers,
