Ask Chaosoul's Magic 8 Ball

here are some (crappy iPhone) shots of Racing Yellow next to Giallo Triplo Strato
Mike: This photo is probably digitally enhanced.
So we have yet to see how 'Saffron' looks to the
human eye. Indeed it looks like 'Signal Yellow' in
that photo...or 'Signal Orange'. I will venture to
guess that it will be less striking a hue in person.
But that is purely a speculation given my experience
with pearl & metallic paints! However if the 'Saffron'
color turns out to really look like this, it then would
explain why 'Signal Orange' was recently rejected
for PTS. It would be surprisingly close...

The 'Saffron' .2 991 gt3 photos are apparently taken from
an internet site posted by Will Lee in Instagram:

I am familiar with Ferrari's expensive optional color
'Giallo Triplo Strato'. And it's a bit 'too' intense &
'loud' for my taste.
This was the Ferrari color that Chaosoul mentioned as to
what perhaps PAG was shooting for with its new 'Saffron'
hue. But in my opinion, 'Giallo Triplo Strato' is a more
suitable color to an Italian 'Prancing Horse' than to the
'stud' which is the city of Stuttgart's symbolic Equus!
I really do not understand why PAG would do a .2 991 gt3
press car in 'Saffron' unless they intend to allow this new
color to be ordered on this gt model. But who knows what
PAG is up today re: paint colors!

If saffron metallic is anything like Giallo Triplo Strato it will be a great color IMO...,tons of depth--pearlescent finish, not nearly as bright as RY but stunning color in the sun
Eduardo is correct about the $$$$$ paint color though....$20K if I remember correctly

I closely inspected a Giallo Triplo Strato LaFerrari that Gooding was offering at Amelia Island this year. I agree that the intense level of pearl effect in that color made it not too appealing to my sensibilities. But, I'm a medium-flash and not a high-flash guy

Group trip to st Helena today.. put on yer uniforms and act professional. Our elusive cleaning lady, Miss Chaos, or Chao Soul, or, Mr Soul... (we have no idea how to pronounce or spell it) has been self-identified in St Helena in some self proclaimed "northern republic"
feel free to join our posse as long as you bring powerful binoculars and special cleaning lady sniffing equipment. Pay special attention to stray 8 ***** which she/he/it may drop as clues here and there and everywhere. Leave no stone unturned.. we will find her.... errr, him/it? Ok?.. clear?.. let's go. (Oh, and post your findings here on the forum)

There are no differences between .1 and .2
Both houses 380mm 34mm rotors up front and 380mm 30mm in the rear for iron brakes. 410mm 36mm rotors up front and 390mm 32mm in the rear for PCCB. The calipers are identical.
As for pads, someone else may better answer you on this forum. I know PAG rotates out pads for new pads part numbers from their suppliers from time to time. I have not kept up with it.

Will the GT3 have a composite / plastic oil sump?

I am sure AP said at one of these first interview videos that calipers have been upgraded and now they can accommodate slightly bigger pads.
I wanted to get more insight on that one.

I understood from an early interview with AP the caliper has been modified. This may be the piston diameter, material or an internal change to reduce pad drag. I believe the issues we all have faced with pad taper and cracked piston pucks (ceramic) on the 991.1 GT3 and GT4 may have finally been addressed with this revision. I understood 100% that the pad is different for 991.1 and 991.2 GT3...
