Default Free - Circlips for Headlamp Push Rod

Managed to lose one of the circlips for the push rod on the headlight assembly during a clean-up project, and found that they are NLA.

Searched around a bit and found what appears to be an adequate replacement. Fits well, and doesn't look like it's going anywhere.

Bought a few extra, so if anyone is in a similar boat or looking for an extra - drop me a line. Will drop it in an envelope fo-free.

I drove on mine for years before I realized there was supposed to be something there...

I'm biased here, but I'm not sure how we can come to a conclusion that something is "wrong", if we haven't even seen what the suitable replacement is?
Especially as a pay it forward, when the established member is willing to give it to you and ship for free...right?

I'm not sure if it's "wrong" as much as it's "better".

What I replaced was what was on the car when I took things apart. Other posts seem to suggest having the same .

You're right, even with a "just kidding" icon it was inappropriate to suggest alternatives when Ryan has generously offered free clips. My apologies.

Jim, I'm interested in that replacement. The fact that circlips pop off should be enough of a reason.
The Red Witch is running a Lowe's hardware aisle 5/16" circlip.
Time to give McMaster-Carr a call...

Another alternative is the clip that is used to mount the idler roller assembly down below the crankshaft. Those little clips are less likely to come off.

This post is one of the reasons I love RL.

I make my offer after trying to solve my own problem. Jim replies back with a response (of which I really didn't take offense). Jim then finds an old post of why his option helps prevent radiator damage.

So....back to Ace Hardware I go to get the better part.

Thanks for the enlightenment, Jim

Don't forget that Jeff Spahn made a shield for the A/C condenser.

I don't know if there are any left, though.
