thanks, but i need 21's. I bought 21's for my snow tires too in case i just want to interchange the tires with the same rims. I have to the summer to get some new wheels...thanks though...

I think "not looking to spend much" and "don't want any aftermarket wheels" and "but i need 21's" - you can have 2 out of the 3, but it will be futile waiting to find all 3 together. Sort of like "Cheap, fast, quality" - pick any 2.

The idea with winter sets is you get narrower tires that have taller sidewalls. The narrower rim allows plowing through snow better than a wider one. The taller sidewall gives you more protection against obstacles that might be hidden by the snow. Like potholes or a curb you might hit if you did manage to lose traction (or just didn't see it when parking in the snow). The taller sidewall usually also means a slightly softer ride. Better braking as well.

21's, factory rims, winter tires AND cheap? Good luck with that, it's really not an ideal combination.

I will be selling the OEM 21s off my '09 Turbo S in a couple months if those would be of Interest. Price will probably be around $2,000 without tires. Tires are 295/35-21 Pirellis. Fronts are very good - Rears are not and I'd probably just sell the tires locally if shipping the wheels.

Size is 21"x10" ET 50 at all 4 corners.

I've got a set of 20" RS Spyders in almost perfect condition. There is one small nick on one of the wheels that's no noticeable unless you detail the car and are getting intimate with the cleaning process.


They will be off the car tomorrow as I'm shedding the car with new 21" Vorestiners

I would ditch the 21" for the winter. Sell those tires and bump down to a 20" or a 19" or even an 18".

I like the 21" winter tires. In Annapolis the winters are mild compared to Baltimore and Washington DC. For my needs they work well. I have a range rover hse supercharge will full size all seasons and they've been great the last 7 yrs. So for my purposes the 21" winters will work fine. Plus they look a lot better than the smaller wheel size for the winter tires. Interesting comments on this thread. Thank you all for the suggestions. I have some leads for some nice 21's. We will see what happens...

Won't he need 19s or 20s to clear Turbo S brakes? If so, and he already has other tires, he might as well stay with 21s to have flexibility.

19's just clear the Turbo (red)/GTS brakes. 18's wouldn't do it. Put 19" winter snows on mine (Pirelli Scorpion snow/ice) - ride quality is improved, ultimate jughandle traction is probably a bit less, seem to work quite nicely in the 4"-5" of snow we had this past weekend.

I don't really understand why it snowed here - I bought/put snows on, started the snowblower, got the shovels out, put scrapers in the cars. Those actions normally give us a snow-free winter.

So true...last year got a new snowblower and generator and we had zero winter. Was nice to bring out the snowblower this weekend though
