I had one of those years ago. Fun to drive and I don't think the average person could break it.

I had one of those too. Wish I STILL had it. Was a virgin I sold in 2012, bought new 2005 and only 18k miles on it. Oh man, was looking at some of the pics in the for sale ad (below). Damn this thing was literally, PERFECT. So clean. Ugh. Pissed. Should have kept.

And those who say never... if Porsche makes it you'll or someone else will buy it. It will be good. Or at least mostly good.

For me, unless they put a 911R or 991RS or 991.2 motor in it, not interested.

And why not?

Porsche shoved a flat eight into a 718 Spyder and called it W-RS, and built the 718 GTR coupe with eight cylinders. Not sure if this post will create a new and exciting rumor that a flat eight in in the cards...

...or is just a reminder that naming conventions only go so far when it comes to Porsche. Cayman R, new 911R, Cayenne GTS, and others are just a few that come to mind.

i think the 991.2GT3 will still be 3.8L, BUT with manual. Thats it.
I think sales will be less then expected making them rare and pretty much axe a future manual GT3 at the same time.

The 718 GT4 will come right at the end of that body production. It will be PDK only i suspect.
I feel like they will use X51 3.8L.... I just cannot see a tuned turbo 4 being much more the a GTS in the 718.... BUT if it is legal for FIA, they could very well just leave the Turbo 4 banger in it and call it a GT4... and im not sure how i feel about that....

Porsche will need to make the next GT4 to be lighter and faster lap times then the current GT4 to make it marketable.

If they build the next GT4 clubsport and it is not that exciting, i could see myself bypassing the GT4 program and going straight to 991 Cup...

The rumor on the GM insider street right now is a detuned GT3 3.8.
Partially because the 991S 3.8 is no longer being produced and because the turbo engines still go against the GT3/4 philosophy internally.

AMG are claiming they are going to release a hyper car that revs to 11,000rpm using a formula 1 engine:

Interesting if it materialises.

Is it just me or are they lifting their game recently?
