But it does have a "Salvage title due to the fact that the previous owner did not want to repair the driver quarter damage so the insurance company totaled the car." A thorough PPI would be advisable. Anybody know anything about Los Angeles Dismantler?
A side story - I had an almost new, rebuilt White Ford Crown Victoria Police Sedan (Louisiana State Police rolled it one night chasing a "suspect") I bought from a guy who bought it at auction and rebuilt it. I owned it a few years and a Ford dealer did a transmission repair under warranty, no questions asked. I sold it for near what I paid for it after nearly 3 years and 80k miles. It was in demand with all those antennas and the spotlights on the doors. American flag stickers on the windows and rear bumper too. And a Louisiana Sheriffs Association plate on the front, to have something in the license plate bracket. Never got a ticket altho I routinely drove it 20-30 over the speed limit in the fast lane, with headlights on. I had to do that to avoid traffic backups behind me. AlL the cops would wave at me, even with a radar or laser gun in hand. One waved me around a police roadblock checkpoint. Another one offered me an Escort home from a wedding reception after we drank and partied. That was my all-time favorite beater. My Porsches got no such courtesies.
I have heard LA dismantler is solid. I once almost bought a mint 996 turbo from them. They get some neat cars and parts semi often, albeit some in nice condition and some rough-
I was looking at autotrader looking for a 997.2 GTS, found this one, but it is on the other side of the country. Is the price reasonable for 997 GTS? They are asking for $81,984.
Thanks

I occasionally look at 997 GTS's. Seems on par with the market. Even a bit lower than some. Looks like CPO and has low miles. It's a manual too which is nice.
Wow! Just noticed on salvage GTS. Did you see the wheel ripped right off the axle?? The wheel spokes tore right off the wheel hub. They look like they're still bolted onto the axle.

This isn't a 997 thread but if you want a blue manual GTS vert I would buy that right now. Very rare. Thingie has full leather, SC blah blah blah, CPO and 12k miles. No Alcatana, though.
I have seen cheaper ones but only in winter and in boring colors.
