Dr. Colorchip experience

I would say I have road rash on my front bumper and lots of tiny chips on my hood. Once I wax its barely noticeable on the hood but I thought I'd try the dr. colorchip to correct it a bit. I got the large kit with the plastic squeegee and had to get a friend to deliver it because they wouldnt ship to Canada.
The first try didn't go well as the car was a bit warm from the sun so their paint dried too quickly. It took awhile to wipe it off with the solution they provide but I went at it the next day and it was pretty easy.
Heres some before pics, then with paint dry on the hood then after the final wiping. For the price it makes quite a difference, I think I have enough wiping solution left for the mirrors so I'll do those.

That was my experience as well - it does come off with buffing.
I used it on my black Boxster. It was original paint with lots of rash, and was very pleased with the results.

I had a similar experience. It made a big improvement on a dark car when viewed from 5 feet away or more. Up close, the chips are still noticeable. The job was easy to do and worth the effort.
It's been about 4+ years since I did it, and I'm probably due for a refresh.

It definitely improved the chips on my Midnight Blue Metallic C4S. It wasn't perfect, but it looked much better after treatment with Dr. Colorchip.

It's just paint, so it'll never totally fill chips... For what it is, what it does, and ease of application/removal the Dr. Color chip system/technique is pretty cool and very affordable. There's just no way it's ever going to match the quality or results of a repaint.

Oh I totally agree.. but for $100CAD it was well worth it. I'd like a repaint but I'll wait a few years. Rather put that money into good maintenance right now.

There are chips that can only be "filled" with several coats during a paint job.....but it does a "good job" at improving the looks of the car from 5 feet away.
I have to check my personal computer at home for close up before and after pictures, I will post if I find them.

How many coats do you think I'll need?
