Interesting frame grab. 44 years after my 1972 came off the production line, the new models are still lifting front wheels in corners.

Really looking forward to seeing the finished video..:

Are you allowed to share any further thoughts on how the R drives Jack now you've driven it in anger? :-)

And finally... the end of the road. Thanks for putting up with all my posts in this thread. But this is the 'finale' clip where Elvan and I drove the hillclimb stage won by an original 911R back in 1969. The road was great. The car looks great. My on-screen acting, well... 'it is what it is,' as they say.

And so it's in the same post, here's the cell-phone-shot clip, which has less polish than the final one, but captures a different, down-on-the-ground aspect of that day's driving.

As always, I'm very grateful to Porsche AG and Patrick Long for choosing me for this. What a blast.

Default dash info display and seats

This may have been answered before.

If you opt for no PCM, do you still get the car details (temp, oil, etc) on the dash in the little window? just no nav, radio displays I presume.

Also, does anyone know if the leather seat cushions can be replaced with alcantera? I'm hesitant for the LWBS as they're so impractical but don't want to be constantly sliding on leather. How grippy is the houndstooth fabric?

Thanks.

Hello Jack, many thanks for your posts....just a question: by driving 911R...did you feel any sensation that you feel irrimediably lost in modern cars (starting from 991RS) ?
tks in advance

Good Lord. I'd trade my PTS RS for a configurable R.

Yes you get all the functions on the dash mini screen minus the audio and nav.

Wow. Just wow. I am greener than AC SATCO's new car! I want a helicopter spotter for my next back road jaunt. Thank you Mr. Olsen for sharing this...T

We should keep the tradition alive. I bought your riviera blue car. You should sell me that one next ;-)

Default Mexico Blue

Henry's already called dibs on both the RS and R... I plan to keep them both, but said the same about my old 4.0 RS and GT2RS
