Porsche basically realizes we want a manual GT3 but refuse to put one in. Instead they make a limited car that enthusiasts most likely won't get a chance to own and charge a bundle for it.

Remove the radio, add pccb's, add lightweight battery and stick a manual in a GT3 and I bet you come within 25lbs of this car. I really hope the next GT3 is N/A and has a manual option. I bet it does because if this was the last N/A manual they would have said it and made a big deal out of it.

Not suggesting people who bought the 918s aren't purists, but that car could not be farther from a "purist" car if it tried with its electric motors, heavy batteries, etc...
So you have to buy a 918 to get the purist car.

911R $185K 4.0 manual, RWS, I assume normal LSD and 110lbs lighter than RS

Maybe it comes with enough options to somewhat justify the premium.

Thankfully they made me drive big downforce and PDK-S first..
I would have been all over this car not knowing how much I like PDKS, big rubber and downforce!!

Comes with PCCB - I guess this helps make the asking price a tad more reasonable (about same price as RS with PCCB, if one is inclined to have them).

so, same price at RS, but no leather or alcantara panels/roof lining. funny how porsche deletes the big wing, charge $3k for flywheel, delete radio/ac, and put on some ugly stripes. almost as bad as the lipstick red on 2010rs.

It's interesting how AP talks about ECOTY. I guarantee you they were dumbfounded at Porsche when the GT4 won EVO car Of the Year ahead of cars that cost 4 times more! They finally realized it's not always about HP and speed. Well done! I hope this trend continues at Porsche.
