Since my car is a cab and doesn't have a roll bar( stock cab pop up bars only) suggestions for mounting locations would be appreciated .

Photos if you've done this would be even better.

 

The most common one is the Rennline (and other brands) solution that puts the extinguisher just in front of the passenger seat. Depending on your budget and your tolerance for southern engineering, you could effect a perfectly functional mount with some pipe strap tape and two toggle clamps.



Ghetto version: Some of this pipe strap attached to the front seat mounts on the passenger side, plus a couple of these quick-release pins or some other toolless clip, would work, although certainly not as good looking as the machined aluminum mounts...

My car came with the black Brey-Krause fire extinguisher from pelican parts. With the extinguisher removed, it's very discrete and you don't notice it's there.

 

Is there one that fits under the seat instead of in front of it?

 

Under? I think that if you need the extinguisher, you aren't going to want to be hunting around under the seat for it.

Take that Rennline one and rotate 90 degrees. Now you can still use the under-seat area for passenger storage, and still easily reach the extinguisher. For a DD car this makes more sense than something that not only blocks the under-seat area, but protrudes into the passenger footwell.

 

Porsche actually has a mount that goes under the seat, and its not very expensive.
If I recall, I used the Porsche mount and velcro strips that wrap around the extinguisher and the mount.

Maybe you could fashion some external brackets to hold the fire extinguisher - maybe down low on the front spoiler?

 

If it were me and this isn't a track car, I'd let it burn. Nothing worse than a half crispy NON right off from the insurance company...

 

Just mount it to one of your Spatula's and be done with it.

 

I would but it would look unbalanced. I'd need to mount a matched pair

 

Interesting timing - thread on Corvette Forum right now about a gent who was driving his C3 the second time after finishing his 4-year restoration...

By the time the fire department got there, the car was completely ruined with at least 6 inches of standing water in the cabin. I think I'll get around to mounting extinguishers in both cars this weekend.
