when I searched for threads regarding Turbo wrapping or Turbo insulation or turbo blankets or turbo+wrap I get a bunch of threads with no relevance at all and I am sure there have been threads discussing wrapping the turbocharger with insulation.

Try "Turbo wrapping" (using the conversation marks)
The reason you are probably getting poor results is it will search for both terms and pull any thread with either term.

I just did an advanced search in the OT forum, searching titles only, using keywords from the newest thread, but no threads were found.

Ok - what key word did you use by chance?

I attempted with "fight" for example, and got a number of results.

well I just tried the exact same search and I got a result this time. Has something been changed in the past few hours?

Hello,

My recent searches only show 2009!
Can you please extend them back to day one?

thanks,

Is it possible to default to ANDing the keywords together instead of ORing them? Or, at least, to specify AND or OR in the search filter? The way it is currently makes it really hard to find results unless you have a pretty unique search term. If one of the keywords happens to be a common word, enough results come back that I might as well be browsing the forum instead of searching it. And using conversation marks isn't always possible.

Looks like the search results is OR'ing our search terms instead of AND, so I'm getting waaay too many results back.

I really hope you can address this because it truly makes the search function practically useless.

Like Modian said, a way to specify AND or OR would work. Best would be simply revert back to AND.

+1

Given the wealth of information in these posts, being able to effectively search is very important here at Rennlist. Right now the default OR (with no way to AND) is killing one of the best features of the site.

Having same problem. I am searching for wheel spacers as well as Techart wheel spacers and I end up with 10 pages of nothing related. Essentially getting the current posts for the last few months.

What happened to the search function? It used to work fine.

Having the same problem - the OR is making the search function useless. I have had to start using Pelican-Parts forum for tech research as I can't find anything on here anymore.

In the mean time there are two ways to make it an "and" operator.
add "+" in front of each term.
i.e.
+alloy +wheels +low +profile

OR
Place the phrase in quotation marks
"alloy wheels low profile"

I will pass on the feedback to our developer, and we will work out a solution, in the mean time, I hope that gets you by!

Thankyou,
Adrian
