Warning re front license plate

recent?
this has been the case for years and they have always gone after people for it.
I took my plate off once years ago for bumper work, didnt put it back on and was pulled over the next day.
Any of my friends who pushed this one eventually got nabbed for it.
but by all means keep up your tim hortons cred.

+1, IMO they seem to go for people hiding/disguising(covers) plates or putting in the windshield or similar...know lots of people who have gotten ticketed for this
What about all the drivers (and there are more than just a few) who put their plates under dark smoked covers so the plates aren't visible unless you're shining a huge flashlight directly in front of them in broad daylight.
To me, that's far worse than having a clearly visible rear plate and no front plate.

I bet a GT2 is sensitive about acceleration. With the drag from the front plate, and a full bowel, it must be nail biting to merge onto busy highways... ;-)
(I do understand regardless of my mocking... I ran without a front plate on my 951 for years until a police officer pulled me over and told me that the cops at the station 3 blocks away specifically discussed my car and agreed to pull my over for not having the front plate. He gave me warning, the next guy gave me a ticket. I put it on to avoid the hassle and move on with my life.)

The thing barely moves out of its own way! (I think it might accelerate harder in 6th then my beater BMW does in 1st lol)
If I get a warning (or ticket) I'll probably throw it on, so far it seems the officers enjoy beautiful bumper vs ugly plate... just like they don't care about my straight pipes, etc... .... FWIW I don't live in the GTA
Front plate integration on 964+ 911's is just plain ugly IMO...

There is one little tidbit of information no one has mentioned yet... The plates are reflective - not just to visible light but also to radar and laser wavelengths - and the amount of energy reflected back from the front plate is about 30x greater than the entire front surface of the car. In a province where over 90% of all moving traffic violation fines collected are from speed infractions, I can't help but think it is more about an easy way for the constabulary to continue generating revenue for the province than any other legitimate concern.
P.S. I stand corrected - Turbodan mentioned it on the first page. And, it's not just laser & radar - it's also about red light cameras. The front plate is 99% about generating revenue for the province and insurance companies.

I didn't belive it myself until I saw one - but at least some of them in the GTA do. A colleague showed me the ticket she received in the mail... the photos are of the front of her car running the light towards the camera, on the opposite side of the road from the camera location. Regarding revenue generation, I agree that the cameras are not about that.
