I fear that Governments being involved in a decision in March over the Uber/Taxi issue will screw everything up. The fact that they had involved themselves in the taxi industry in the first place with overly heavy regulation and then just walked away giving up the keys to the bank vault by not having a license requirement of the driver - not the vehicle means that they will screw this one up as well.

Governments like to control. Anything they can't control is an alien to be hunted down and killed. Uber is like John Hurt. (Google his most famous scene)
