Default Gorgeous yellow '96 C4S...but $80K?

http://www.autotrader.ca/result/AdDe...frnID=20572746

I mean it's gorgeous but $80,000... I can imagine paying that much for a mint, mint '98 C2S but a '96 C4S?

What do you guys think?

Aim high and wait I guess. I don't think Pfaff will have any trouble getting 70K for that car. The hardback seats alone are worth $$$. They also prob got it on trade for a great deal and supply of good condition 993's is very slim these days.

Take out the exchange and duty and that's $68K US for a 30K mile car with hardbacks...no problem getting that in the states right now. A 12k mile '98 C2S just sold for $105K US. I think these prices are nuts personally and would never pay them, but there are obviously some out there that have more money than brains!!!

Aftermarket gauge faces look crappy.

Wonder if it's dropped on springs or coil overs.

Good point on the exchange rate.

Pfaff is always priced higher... no bargains to be found there. For that price, I'd want to have binders full of maintenance reccords!

Good points: Low mileage, Canadian spec car, rare and desirable colour, lots of options (need to see the sticker to confirm what should and shouldn't be there).

Bad points: euro lights on North American spec front bumper (bumperette holes), silver gauge faces don't look to be factory (no cutouts for warning lights)

Price? If the car has no accident history, this is completely in line with US pricing. Considering the colour, perhaps even a bargain when considering exchange and duty as others have said.

Considering the low KM and hardbacks, I'd say its priced right. If you can pick up the car for 75K you did well. This car will be snatched up by a European buyer sooner or later.

I'd buy two 996 C4Ss, a cab and a coupe for rainy days for that dough. If you are fortunate to have a 993 it's like money in the bank !

When my dad picked up his 996 C4S, he had a chance to pick up a blue 993 C4S for a couple grand more... he loves his 996, but I told him he'd be able to buy 2 of his for one of those in a few years...

Here's another C4S with similar mileage in the market place, minus the sports seats and their asking 80K USD.

I think that is where the market is for that car, if everythings top notch it'll go within $5K of the asking.

Looks about right. I think 993 C4S's always go for more than the 993 C2S's - wide body, red brakes, etc. Everything but the Turbo engine which would add another $75K........check this for outrageous.....
