Ice can form on the inside of double panes for three reasons, first as noted excess humidity and second the frames didn't have a thermal break and third it was just too freaking cold.

thanks guys.

we have a humidifier sitting practically right beside the problem windows + and i had the door way removed from the master ensuite + plus the steaming showers with no fan on (felt air was dry).

all other windows in the house are unaffected, just this one area with the above combined factors.

this was the first year in which all of this has happened and ive been living in current home since new for 4 years now, so no more warranty.

Did this change?
I believe it's, 2 years for water penetration, one year for workmanship.

That would explain condensation, not why you need an ice scrapper.

EU2000i, rated for 13.3A continuous current draw which should suffice 12A combined between the furnace and water heater.

I can't seem to find a definitive current draw for the furnace, the installation booklet left behind by the HVAC contractor for the builder suggests just under 10A, maybe as low as 9A, but that seems a bit high when I looked up other relatively new forced-air furnaces, which seem to be between 6A to 7A, perhaps the 9 to 10A numbers are from the blower motor surge current on start-up.

I picked up the EU2000i because it is easily "one-person portable" at under 50 lbs weight and fits in my Accord for transportability, the next size up is the EU3000i, the lightweight version is 78 lbs, the regular version is 130 lbs, making it a lot less "one-person portable" given the awkward shape and size, also might not fit in most vehicles unless mini-van or SUV, neither of which I have.

This model is also just about the quietest generator out there, it sounds more like a 12V air pump, actually the 12V air pump is probably noisier.

Sister's place finally got electrical power turned back on sometime yesterday afternoon, we went over last night to start up the heat pump, water softener, electric water heater etc., will let the house warm up before moving them back.

Their tree clearing will cost close to $8K, only $3K will be covered by insurance, re-string the power cable is another $3K, all of that should be covered by insurance, don't think the Bell phone cable will cost them anything to re-string, not sure just yet.

The upside is they will have a good amount of firewood for next year.

Even if it were cheap Toronto would add a user fee.
