Restoring VIN 461450
They are doing a great job and it's nice to have such a resource here in Ontario.
Everyone at Leon's Autobody was really impressed with the welds and overall work done by Mike and his crew. Leon's only uses Glasurit paints and clears. For this car the painter suggested going single stage to get the factory paint look. We will discuss this at length after the holidays.
Speaking of which, Merry Christmas, Y'all! Enjoy the pics.

The good news is that things are moving slowly but surely:
The shell, doors, rear lid and hood have black undercoat on the outside only at the moment. Lots of work still ahead. I am doing a lot of research on the colour, as I want to "hit it just right" with this hard-to-duplicate Aga Blau. Its going to be a single stage Glazurit, which I understand was the OEM supplier of this paint at the time. Aga Blau is supposed to be a dark pastel blue. I can't wait to see it all over the car.

Meanwhile, Brent FINALLY took apart the motor, which is not original and I knew that. But what I didn't know is that I have a 912 motor with OEM Super 90 heads in it. Kaching! No wonder it was burning rubber in first gear last summer. So, what that all means is that I have heads that are thicker and can be taken to 1675cc. Sounds much better than going to a 1720cc aftermarket kit. Brent is sending the heads to Reno, Nevada to get that done. I decided to keep stock carbs, as they are considered to be as good as Webers if tuned properly and I get to keep a stock look.
Oh, yeah I forgot, all tin has been successfully powerdercoated black. And interior is going in to the shop next week.
Thats it for now.
P.S. Arnaud, I will let you know in advance before the car is ready, so you can grow your nails out
