Hey, this is fantastic. I was at the Bouncing Bomb in the late summer and saw the 912 parked there with the for sale sign. Poured all over it, and thought about calling, but I have too many projects at the time. Good call on going back to the original paint. This will be a great car, and hopefully once the bodywork is done, your kids will be more interested in bolting it back together. Keep us posted!

Time for an update:
The shop has finally put a man full time on my car. I am happy to announce rust is now history. This was a priority for me, as I wanted to make sure this car will not need another restoration anytime soon if ever. As you can see in the pictures, the frunk area, engine bay, wheel wells and most of the tub has been covered now with, forgot its name, that is similar to the original finish in look and feel. Some sections in the frunk were smooth originally and some were not. We made sure we didnt change anything. After I took those pictures, I received another one from the shop, showing the car going into the booth for interior paint. That means tomorrow will be the first time I see Aga Blue in the flesh.

Great project you have undertaken with your sons. Have enjoyed seeing the car evolve. Hope you will consider coming out to our SW ON. long hood meet Oct4/14. Registration details on the PCA/UCR website & 911s registry Canada forum .Good Luck with your project can't wait to see it complete.

Stan ownership is the only prerequisite to attending, as many cars are similar to yours and are in a various degrees of resto. Let me know, it would be great to have you register for the event. Hope you can join us.

We finally have Aga Blue on door jams, inside the doors, under the hood, under rear deck lid, dash, all of the interior. We ordered the paint from Glasurit premixed. Since Glasurit was original paint supplier for Porsche back then, who better to mix the paint correctly than them. And indeed, from what I have seen during my research, the color is bang on. Its a medium-dark blue with lots of gray in it. Very interesting looking color. I love it from some angles, and not so much from others. But I have to say that its growing on me very quickly.
Unfortunately I did not have my good camera with me again, so here are some crappy BBerry pics

Thanks Guys, I am getting all excited again.
The Fly, as my wife nicknamed this car, should be assembled and ready for paint by the end of the week. New fender hardware, new door checks and stays are on the way from Sierra Madre and should be in Buffalo tomorrow.
By the end of September the body should be complete and moved to Hunter's for over-the-winter re-assembly.
Thanks for your interest. Will post new pics soon.
