Default need help - my 2007 white GT3 - stolen

this is a crazy one

my ex, well almost, in 1 week she will be my ex, stole my white 2007 GT3 with RS wing

the serial number is

WP0AC29997S792172

she showed up at dealership and they gave her the car - it is now gone

i am pretty sure she is going to try and sell it - i am legally trying to stop this asap but I may not have time if she sells it quickly and it disappears

i know the car is not at Downtown Fine Cars is Toronto and I have called Pfaff to alert them

i'm thinking somehow she is going to go to some small place and unload it

who ever it is is going to be inheriting a mess as they will be buying a car that she doesn't legally own - even though she appears to as has her name on the Ontario ownership - but legally she does not own the car - I do

if anyone has any leeds on where the car is - likely somewhere in Toronto can you please contact me

thank you

Paul O'Neil

Well hopefully her lawyer gets in touch with her before she does something stupid.

Hope it goes well for you.

can you put a lean on the title?
I am not a lawyer but if title is clear and in her name I think she can sell it.
good luck. hope it works out. too bad porsche doesn't have a similar onstar system that you could track it and shut it down.

Yeap if the tittle is in here name, there is not much you can do. How come her name is on the tittle though? I own all of my cars and all are only in my name...
She can claim you gifted her the car, so go prove otherwise... I feel for you, what a mess...

Asked my wife who is a lawyer if her name is on title and no lien nothing to stop her fropm selling it. You need to get a lawyer asap and get them to try and get an order to prevent the sale. You'll have to establish that the beneficial ownership of the car belongs to you.

PM me if you have any questions my wife may be able to help you with.

If she hasn't yet sold it, register a lien immediately. you can file one online through serviceontario.ca I think, but if not, call me and i can do it through our ppsa account

Yep, you are essentially screwed. My mom owns an MTO office. If the car is her name she can do anything with it. And in the divorce it would be an asset of hers.

Even if you try to report it stolen the cops are going to ask whos car it is, and it technically it is hers.

Totally sucks, and my heart goes out to you.

And what everyone is saying about the mto not batting an eye is true - if it's in her name, she can do what she wants. If you can prove it's your car and just registered to her, you can sue her, but who knows if you'll ever collect.

Hate to join the rest but if it's in her name, your screwed.
Nothing you can do.
Many moons ago I bough 2 snowmobiles. Put them in the wife's name because it lowered insurance.
Fast forward to the divorce. The split meant I got one and she the other but had to buy the other one back, even though I paid for both and then have title transferred.
