PSS10 with a good setup makes a big difference. The setup I have now feels more like a 996 GT3 suspension. Very rough and not what most people would want driving around the street. Though I think you could make it as soft as you wanted to make it just as comfy as stock suspension.

Compared to a Lotus, Yes. My car with rear seat delete and full tank of gas weight in at 3385. Once I take out the stock seats and put some euro GT3 seats in it, it should easily lose 50 lbs. The 991 GT3 is 3150, Corvette C7 with track package will come in at 3300. Guys weighing their 977.2 GT3 are not getting the curb weight stated in there manual. Guess they needed to have optioned PCCB's and not have added anything to come close to it, so I am guessing real world weight of 991 GT3 will not be what is stated as well. 150-200 lbs off a GT3 is not really that big of a difference.

Believe me. I too would love to have a car weight less or equal to 2800 lbs and have over 400 hp with the same crash safety as what Porsche makes as well as having a dry sump and proven bullet proof engine. Just no one sells them here. Closest thing would be a 996 GT3. In which case the Turbo is better for my needs. Winter driving and the widebody look.

14 years old and just turned 100,000 km this weekend at the best place for it.

She gets new H&R RSS coilovers and suspension bits all around with a perfect alignment. My arm never had to stick out the window the whole weekend, going to have to start going to the gym to get it a workout.

Car looks great, glad to see you put her on the right track to stretch her legs

Picking up my 03 Turbo in a few weeks... lots of suspension mods, cannot wait to bring to Mosport.

Thanks, has the following:

SUSPENSION
• 996 GT3 Cup – ride height adjustable suspension
• 996 GT3 Control Arms
• Solid Bushings in Control Arms
• Rear Adjustable Toe links
• Rear Adjustable Links (Dog Bones)
• Front Adjustable Link
• Front and Rear Adjustable Sway Bars

I'm excited, should handle like a GT3 with all of the power of a Turbo I'm sure it'll be a worthy successor to my Corvette Z06.

Congrats on the new ride Steve!!

A TT will never equal a GT3 on the track... no matter how you slice or dice it, BUT these cars will spend 95+% of their time on streets and Hwys where they are waaaay faster and more civilized than a GT3 IMO!! You will definitely have a ton of fun with it!

I am really looking forward to taking my C4S to Mosport in September with JRP. I did around 1:40 with my S4.. I am hoping I can get to the 1:39 range on the C4S

How upset are you all going to be when I tell you there is a 50hp, $10k car that can turn those lap times at mosport... Heheheheheh I'll buy a beer for the first one who guesses it.

Albeit it doesn't have the posh street ability of the 996tt and it would be hilarious to see one in the snow

slice it in which way, just suspension? cause tune, exhaust, equal tire compounds, brakes and seats the Turbo quite easily takes them out on the straights and hangs with them in the corners.

Don't get me wrong, I love the TT! It's many things my GT3 wasn't. But the GT3 is many things a TT will never be no matter how many aftermarket $$ you throw at it.

Straight line fast... yes most definitely! The TT is literally a rocket! But not a lot of skill required to press the throttle pedal.

"TT hangs with GT3's in corners"... depends on comparative skill level of both drivers... GT3s will walk away in corners from equal or lesser TT drivers.

No matter how you slice it a TT feels BIG and HEAVY compared to a GT3 on the track. If you've owned both and have experience driving them on a track you would understand.

Would I go back to a GT3? Nope..

I agree the turbo doesn't feel like the GT3... But the way this turbo is set up, I'm very confident it'll be faster on track than most GT3s
I think I got the best of both worlds. Will compose a thorough write up once I take delivery and put a few track days on her.

We'll have to do a beer on a day we're both @ Mosport.

Funny it feels big because they are the same length, heavy what are the corner weights of that puppy because I've seen gt3's real world weights and they are only 200-250 lbs lighter. That isn't a huge difference or maybe I am not good enough driver to notice.

I am in black group and run with Red on occasion, there is absolutely no 996.3 that keeps up to my Turbo, actually never even had a 997 gt3 keep up to it, slicks vs street tires yes but even my C4S was able to keep up to 996.3 in the corners with the same tire compounds but they do tromp all over on it out of corners. No I am not a specially skilled driver, I know I would be faster around in this turbo vs me in a gt3. A 997.2 RS will make it a struggle on straights but if they suck cornering then they are toast.

Mine is just a mild tuned Turbo with k16's running GT2 spec tires, slower then a 997 turbo on the straights but there are some modified 996 turbos out there running 5-6 hundred hp@wheel and running close to cup car times. Put it this way, the 2 will blow away the 3 and the Turbo can be much closer to it then a 3 will ever be.

I would never suggest anyone is not a good driver, so please don't think that's my point. I learn something every time I go on the track. The minute I think I know it all, it's time to hang up my gloves...

In the mean time, I'm happy, you're happy, there's really no dispute, just different experience and backgrounds leading us to different conclusions.

Hey Steve,
I totally agree the TT is the best of both worlds.
You made a great choice IMO!
Beers on me when we meet!
