You need a trailer just to haul the fuel to the track...or buy a gas truck as a tow vehicle

Your running the black 996? What suspension do you have. Friend of mine is looking into suspension for his 996 3.4
Your turbo is sweet!

It's a stock GT3 suspension. Find a take-off, have it rebuilt by Bilstein, bolt on. It's the most cost-effective solution for our cars.

Cheers! I'm running on street tires (Michelin PS2s). The are a great all-around tire and hold up to track abuse very well.

Not that any of the other ones were in my budget. But I do prefer the modern but not overly modern aspects of the 996. Other then a Z06 it is one of the best bang for the buck cars out there, plus at the end of the day I was also thinking expenses and consumables and what would be the easiest on the pocket book running it. Which is why I ended up with one.

Comparing the Z06 to the 996 Turbo bang for the buck is an interesting conversation. While down at the Glen last month with a bunch of guys with Z06s, I asked how many of them had replaced a motor since starting to track their cars. All except one put their hand up (6 in total). And two guys have done it more then once! So when you think about operating costs, I think we pay more for individual parts, but I have yet to meet a 996 Turbo owner that has had to replace a motor...

True but not knowing this you would think it was. Though the C5 Zo6 doesn't have the same problem as the C6 b it's just butt ugly.

[QUOTE=jumper5836;10459230]but it sure does go.

Finally someone agrees with me...

My 996tt had the same set up as yours and boy it was a pig.

Fast as hell but handles like a pig. I've seen 263 braking in the hump.

Enjoy and be safe.

Actually handling was better then my C4S. Pig was referred to the way it consumes gas.

Yeah gas consumption was nuts too...

I guess the PSS10s are that much better then the H&Rs.

I'm still think the 996tts are a little too heavy for the track.
