Loll I'm not scared, just aware that I can't afford to lose 30 seconds over the course of a race....You like to tell everybody that you are 1.5 sec. a lap slower than me but not in a Porsche on a track that you can practice ! The SC is very fast but the lack of downforce kills it on many tracks...

So which car do you recommend for Laguna? RSR is your final pick?

#31 RSR is a full second faster with 200 less hp !
I will use the 997 SC at Road Am and Sunset only. Use the tune I sent you for the RSR and put about 2/3 aero front and rear, it'll do the job !

Practice starts tonight then. I've been running at Laguna Seca with a Cadillac CTS-V this week on iRacing, switch to RSR should be a breeze.

r-factor is to different between mods for me to even comment on it. There are so many bad mods out and terribly made tracks I gave up on it a long time ago. It doesn't work well with a Fanatec wheel or my ATI card and updating mods ever time you decide to play sucks. The ffb in it is from the 90's and it's terrible on my wheel. Pure crap imo.

Yes some mods are crap. But the ones TPS is using are good. The V8's, the WTM (old dtm cars) and the Euro Clio Series are nice and they have an incredibly strong driver lineup ! When do you see the top 15 in a quali within 0.2 ?

My self I suck bad. I basically don't even bother racing on it because I am just a moving obstacle. There are thousands of the best using iRacing, then there are so many other above avg players that I just try to not finish last. I do enjoy it for memorizing real tracks and driving on tracks across the world that I'll never get to do in RL.

physics are way more advanced unlike iracing's suspension and tire models that feel more like driving over land mines on curbs or bumps.
Real time weather and day light based of time of the year, clouds that actually move. Rain, head lights, wipers, fuel consumption. So many other things I don't even want to waste my time mentioning.

I'm on the fence...
I haven't tried Rfactor, so in my world, at the time being, iRacing and Forza 4 are the reference points. On one side I find Forza is a tad too arcade-looking and feeling, and doesn't have the level of sophistication of iRacing. The latter on the other hand has a great community which I feel is of "real" racers, not living-room racers, forces you do drive clean races if you want graduante, but it's also so difficult some times it gets frustrating.
I'm looking for the right balance. Currently, my favorite is iRacing, but I still do not feel my profound need to race is fulfilled. Will I ever know the day where a simulator gives me the full experience and satisfaction that only the sweat, smell of burnt 106 octane and rubber of a real race can provide?

Simulators will never be as real as real racing no matter how good it gets you'll never kill your self taking a corner to fast and you'll always push harder then in rl because of that.
Forza 2 used to be a lot harder like iracing is now. iracing gets better and easier to drive every season release. Fm2 you used to step on the gas out of a corner and spin out, hit a curb and be on the gas on spin out. Now Fm4 is much easier to drive. Though I have to say I've hit curbs flat out in rl and the car's suspension just ate it up, didn't even need to correct a thing. Try that in iracing or hit a pot hole and it will send you off into space. and you can't even do a thing about it or even feel it happen.
