Irresponsible parents who buy these cars for their kids are equally to blame when I read stories like these.

The issue with the parents may be referring to the link I posted above about the dad who bought his kid a Ferrari and crashed it.

McNicoll is a common drag area. This is a rice rocket neighborhood.
Straight road. Fenced back yards on the north, hydro field on the south.
Problem is that there is a little hump that can get you air born if you going faster than say 80.
I don't think this story would have even gotten a paragraph if it were say a Civic, Mustang or Camaro
which would have looked just as bad and probably worse.
