Mine car has a Tiptronic and my other half still only drives it when her Miata is in the shop. She knows she isn't the best driver and doesn't want the grief if something happens to my Targa.

It is a fight in the mornings to see who gets to drive it... sadly she wins 3/5s of the time!

My wife drives my old car (Cayman S) and it has become "her" track car. She is in black run group and will walk all over most people in this thread! Lol!
The car is not a PDK and she can heel and toe with the best of them. Sometimes you have to get them into it so that spending money on track days and sticky tires seem like a good idea.

I wish she would drive it more. I do encourage her to take it but with city traffic, she prefers her DSG Audi.
In cottage country, she does drive it when weather permits top down driving. Great to watch her pull out of the cottage driveway and listen to the always open PSE for a few minutes until the trees muffle the sound.
She has attended a few DE sessions over the 11 years that we've had the car but the bug hasn't bitten..too bad as I think she would do very well.

Sure. My wife drives any car she wants, and grew up driving shift. Her father was an SCCA member and drove a Jag XK140and a bunch of XKEs, as she did when she was very young. She is an excellent manual driver and I am happy for her to take any car she wishes. She has rallied extensively.

However, she is not a particular fan of the RS and does not choose to drive it unless its necessary.

Before we were married, I taught my wife to drive manual so she could drive my drunk a$$ home. It worked out well because then the next two cars she bought were 5 speeds, so our family saloon has a stick.

She drives the Targa on occasion. She's says, 'it merges easily'.

When my mother-in-law was visiting, the local PCA coffee run went up to Montebello so I encouraged Mrs Targatoo to take her mother and my son on the run. Since there isn't room for four of us, I rode with another club member.

My wife only drives stick. She is always welcome to take my car.. prefers her own, but takes it on occasion. I don't have any issue letting people drive my car so long as they are a competent manual drive.

Yes, my wife has driven our Porsche, but only twice since we got it last April. She drives MT very well and loves the car. She would never take it out on her own as she doesn't want that responsibility. I enjoy the opportunity to be the passenger, watching her reactions and smiles. She is very cognizant of her surroundings in the car and would be wary of parking in malls, etc. I would have no problem with her taking it out on her own.

My wife has only been in my Porsche once. Her only comment was that anyone who bought such a useless car must hate their money. Needless to say, the car has not seen her sorry *** since.

Sure. Why not? Yes I worry, but I'm getting better.
Plus, who would drive me home after a bunch of drinks and make me happy when we get home?

My wife has driven the 911 several times, I actually encourage her to drive it! She doesn't really like driving it though, the seat has to be all the way forward for her to reach the pedals, and finds it uncomfortable.
