Yaya... It's coming... I had a setback. I noticed significant wear on many more rocker arm bushings / shafts. Some of the bushings are significantly ovalled out, and some of the shafts are scored, so I ordered 12 bushings and 12 new shafts, and will have the arms rebushed.
Waiting for the parts to get here though...

Starting very small... tonight I'm going to replace any fuses that seem to be close to going. I also might take a look at the speakers because sound is only coming out of the pasenger door speaker. Not a big deal since I won't be listening to music much (the engine sound is too awesome) but I do like my music, so I'll see if I can get them all hooked up properly.
I want to have a professional upgrade the fuel lines to stainless steel braided, guess I can't call that a project!
First real project is recovering my bank account.... haha... but here's what I'm thinking.
This summer:
-Gate for shifter to prevent "money-shift"
-New spark plug lines
-Momo steering wheel
-Front rubber spoiler
-Learn to properly drive it (Porsche DE's)
-Oil changes & reg maintenance
Future:
-Carrera tail (a prev owner took it off and sold it.....)
-SSI's
-Steve Wong chip
A few years down the road I'd like to pull the engine and do a rebuild myself over the span of a winter, but that's a long ways out at this point! Always been a dream of mine to rebuild a 911 engine though.
Thanks Mike! I'm going to be in Ottawa next weekend (likely with the car). Are the Sunday GTG's happening? If so I'll drop by and meet the rest of the Ottawa crew!

Jonathon let me help with your priorities
function first form later
unless you're a big fan of the sugar scoops consider H-4s as one of your earliest upgrades . way more light and way safer. the fancy wheel can wait.
looks like it is the sheath covering your wires that is cracked not your wires .. but never a bad idea .. go out at night and se if you have any spark leak.
I will definitely help you with the basics .. cap . plugs, rotor , air and fuel filter and how to change the oil . Can all be done on one easy after noon I get all my parts from autohausaz.com so sheck them out for price . I have it shiped to bufalo free and go pick it up .
Also check to see if your CHT senso is a one or two wire .. if it is a one wire consider changing it early . Can cause you all kinds of running problems but i know a trick to ttroubleshoot it .
i dont see value in the expensive relay , a relay is a relay. i would just buy a couple of the cheaper ones and keep them around.
You can run the front spoiler without the rear but i do like the look of the spoiler and it will make a difference at speed for sure.
I guess on the way to hershey you will be picking up oil for you now right

Thanks ice!
I believe I already have H4's... The previous owner said they were done and I can tell you that the current lights shine very bright and give great visibility at night. (I tested them thoroughly between midnight and 6am from Raleigh to Pennsylvania!)
What's the CHT sensor?

Jon...congrats! That car has gone to a good home. And that is one heck of a story..I think it's a great thing, as you will be able to tell it for years to come. Especially since nothing too major happened to the car, at the end of the day. :-) Hope to see it at the GTG tomorrow!

i HATE wiper blades ...
Jonathon H-4s dont come in sugar scoops .. but if you like the light you are good to go ..
CHT is the cylinder head temperature sensor ..
early version ( single wire used the head as a ground but as the sensor grows old the connnection corodes and your car will run rich when warmed up and leave you stranded.
later version is a two wire version with a dedicated ground built into the sensor .. way better ..
its the top sensor of the three connectors on the left when you look in your engine bay

Hoorah !
Nice !
They look like H'4's, just not the euro version.
The fancy wheel is like a 911, when you get one you understand.
'Your hands on the wheel are as the tires on the road'
So I guess all you really need are tires and a fancy wheel, and maybe brakes if you do a lot of city driving.

It's a good idea to carry a volt meter on trips-- any sign of battery problems? check voltage and get an idea if your alternator is undercharging (usually) or overcharging and then take action accordingly. Also checking ambient voltage occasionally tells you if your battery is getting weak---- if so just get a new one.
Enjoy the new ride---- nice car!
