That's one crazy adventure. Definitely a story to tell. The car looks great. Love the Gran Prix White over black. I had a 964 cab in that combo, stunning once properly detailed. Though work and kid's basketball schedule keep me from attending the GTGs, I will make an effort to make it in the near future, so i can congratulate you in person. Brent Hunter is definitely your man for any maintenance. I find his pricing reasonable too.

Enjoy it in good health, Jon. I am very happy for you, Pal.

WOW what a story. You took me on the proverbial emotional rollercoaster with that journey. Glad it worked out in the end. Now get it into a shop and get it checked out and start driving it.

Look great and I know the nervousness of getting in a plane to buy a car and then the gut feeling heading to the import office!

I can imagine the feelings you had on your crazy adventure. Impressive that you held it all together! I would have lost it with the fried battery.

Seller would have known about that. Shame on him for letting you fly in in advance of a long drive home for a car that he knew would have troubles.

As Clive mentioned, Brent is excellent. He's in Mississauga. There's eu autowerks in Woodbridge, also very good, though they do more water cooled stuff.

And yeah, flip the gas nozzle upside down and it'll fill a lot faster

Congratulations!...you have been going to Rennlist for a while now, and have made the leap! My first Porsche was a ten or eleven year old (very cheap) 911S, long before it was regarded as a classic. One of the happiest memories was the day after I bought it ( was living in Montreal), and decided to drive to Boston for Breakfast...left at dawn. Had to drive it. Enjoy your car, and of course the timing is perfect...soon we we will be back at Chapters.

Congrats to you, but just curious why you didnt have the car checked out first before you hopped on a plane.

If you're in the Newmarket area, I would also recommend Auto Select. Franz is well respected and knows his stuff.

Where abouts in the Newmarket area? I grew up in Newmarket and my parents still live there - behind the Newmarket Plaza at Yonge & Davis.

From one new Porsche owner to another, congrats! The ear to ear smile doesn't fade easily. A bad day can be cured by taking a nice drive. Enjoy! See you at a GTG soon.

Congrats!
You got the best year!
The long drive will toast the regulator. Mine was on its way out for years and I never knew. Flickering headlights and seatbelt warning were my signs. A spirited trip to Ottawa and kaboom! The previous owner would not have know this. Yes I have a voltage meter now.
I work in Newmarket at the NW corner of Leslie and Davis. Drop in if you see my car. I know them pretty well if I can be of help. aka Ive replace every part you could think of!
