Default my car up 4 sale,motivated seller, 16000$ price drop SOLD

Well, i decided to put my car for sale,
its a 1988 944 turbo
bought it 2 years ago, spent over 18k in rebuild, mods, parts, maintenance since i got the car.

consist on:

rebuilded engine
all seals, gaskets, carillo rods,.....
LR super 61 turbo
LR stage 2 maf
LR chip
new timing belts
new waterpump
3in complete exhaust from turbo, fabspeed and sfr
koni coilovers with helper springs on 4 corners
front camber plate kits
complete new brakes front and rear
big red in front
bias valve 5/33
ss fuel lines,
catch can
clear front side markers and turn signals
new coolant tank, washer tank, brake tank
steering rack rebuild
new ps lines, reservoir
LR nose piece
new steering wheel
new carpets
new seats
968 mo30 front and rear swaybars with new bushings
968 a-arms bushing
big custom FMIC
LR hard pipes
transmission was resealed and is working num 1
clutch is new, forgot the brand but its a really good one(almost 1k)
uego 2000 afr
LR mafburner(not installed yet)
968 door handles, mirrors, rear wing,
modified rear bumper
couple of parts were painted to match the new parts
2 set of wheels, 17in boxster wheels and bbs 18in wheels, rubbers are almost new on both set

and the list goes on and goes on....

all the stuff was done by myself, a 944 mecano and group eurosport(michel),
took over 1,5 years to make it like i wanted, drove the car this summer for a maximum of 10-15 times, and 5 times before the rebuild

car has 138 000miles
price asked 22k$ or obo

Just curious ,, whey spend 2 years making a car "just the way you want it" and then sell it allmost immediately after ? Sounds like with an investment of time and money like that you would drive it the rest of your life

ive questionned myself a lot lol
but when your young (22yo) and you have a fixed idea in your head, its hard to stop...

also, i have another car and want to move from my parents house and buy a condo,

hehehe

Because Clive.. that's just the way we roll. It's funny - this happens all the time. I know people whose only enjoyment is being in the middle of the "project". When complete... BORING!!!

Yeah I guess.. I am kind of like that .. my 911 has sat for mont while I work on the new ..er old ... project..

I went through this process with a 1982 BMW RS motorcycle. In the end, it cost me about $10,000.

But when I got my 993, the experience kept me off the slippery slope.

Except for the suspension mods....

My neighbour is like that - he spends years restoring cars, and as soon as they're done sells them. Doesn't really have any interest in the final results, it's more about the process.

This experience is not unique to cars-- I've seen people spend years fixing a boat - then go nowhere on it! or just sell it! It's all good-- whatever is fun!!
