Whats cool is they are planning multi class races. That would be cool. Would love to run a gt2 class and have an LMP1 or 2 class car whip by me.

That's cool. I think I know what I'm getting myself for xmas. Are there other sim games worth checking out or is iracing the way to go?
They suggest logitech resistance steering wheel - any other suggestions?

Here is a good not so expensive seat. No fancy stuff just a good way to secure the wheel to something.
Here is another seat I really like
http://us.visionracer.com/us/
I personally have an order a VRX Pro PC
haven't even tried it so I can't comment on how it is.

Those pics are impressive. The major downside from my perspective from a PC racing sim vs. Xbox 360 is the entry price. Assuming you have a TV (!!), you get an xbox and a steering wheel for 300-400$. That's two 996 oil changes, not a big deal...
A game-rated PC will probably set you back $2k I would imagine these days? Now that's two 996 sets of tires... which makes an actual track day look more and more attractive....
That being said, I'm really curious to see this iRacing in action...
Jumper,
I like that visionracer seat. I wonder if I could setup my xbox steering wheel on it... Certainly would be an upgrade from my current support, a.k.a. my knees!!

All the seats are compatible with all the popular wheels.
A gaming PC for iracing would set you back 1200. It wouldn't play Crysis at 1080p but it will do any racing title at 1080p including NFS shift which is the most demanding PC racing game at this time.
Considering a track day costs 300-450. It's not a bad investment.
