Mosport vs Virtual iRacing

The wheel that doesn't work is my Logitech Wingman Formula Force, which I've had for 8-10 years. Logitech decided not to make drivers for the 64bit version of Windows 7.
The microsoft wheel would work with the receiver, but from what I can read on the web, force feedback would be disabled, which really takes away from the experience.
May look for a G25-27. Would be for computer alone since I don't have a PS3. What wheel do you use Jumper?

I was looking at those yesterday... Those actually look better than the ones in my car. Something wrong with that... I think I need to buy a house before I can bring one of these puppies in...

You could try asking in the Forza 3 forums to Fanatec users. There probably a lot of them that may have not used their code.

If you own and drive a Porsche, the only way to go is a Fanatec setup (http://fanatec.com/). I use the Fanatec GT3RS with the Clubsport pedals. The Clubsport pedals are the cheapest set with a loadcell for a brake; it feels just like a real brake pedal and the aluminum construction is better than some real race cars. The only drawback is, you have to order direct from them and wait for the next batch to be made. The GT3RS is supposed to be updated to work on consoles. As for a cockpit, I found Playseat (http://www.playseat.com/en) to make an inexpensive setup fo around $300; that beats a normal chair (mods are required to fit the Fanatec setup, as the pedals are wider than the Logitech). If only iRacing will develope a Porsche GT3RS or Cup car, that would be sweet.

News for iRacing
![](http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s34/jumper5836/temp/4872CCeEgpJmsgDucHqVbg.jpg)
iRacing plans to add the RUF RT12R to its lineup of virtual race cars and high performance automobiles later this year. Manufactured by RUF Automobile GmbH, the RT12R is among the world’s very fastest production automobiles.
“We’re excited to offer the RUF RT12R to iRacers around the world,” says Steve Myers, Executive Vice President and Producer, iRacing.com Motorsport Simulation, LLC. “We’re proud of the assortment of virtual race cars we have available, but iRacers have made it clear they also want high-performance, exotic automobiles in our service. The RUF RT12R certainly fits the bill. It’s a superb piece of automotive sculpture, with performance that is nothing short of breathtaking.”
At the heart of the Ruf’s performance is a 3.8 liter, twin-turbo, flat six engine producing 730 horsepower and nearly 700 lb/ft of torque. Coupled with a six speed transmission, the RT12R has a top speed of 230 mph.
“RUF is pleased to partner with iRacing.com in building a digital version of the RT12R,” said Estonia Ruf, Director of Marketing, RUF Automobile GmbH. “For more than 70 years RUF has been recognized for the craftsmanship and cutting-edge engineering that goes into all of our automobiles. Although it is a young company, comparatively speaking, iRacing clearly shares those core values of craftsmanship and engineering excellence.”
iRacing vehicle dynamic engineers will begin the process of creating a digital prototype of the RT12R later this spring. When completed, the prototype will undergo a rigorous testing and development process in order to insure the virtual Ruf drives just like the real one. iRacing expects to release the RUF RT12R to members in the fall of 2012.

Those pics are impressive. The major downside from my perspective from a PC racing sim vs. Xbox 360 is the entry price. Assuming you have a TV (!!), you get an xbox and a steering wheel for 300-400$. That's two 996 oil changes, not a big deal...
A game-rated PC will probably set you back $2k I would imagine these days? Now that's two 996 sets of tires... which makes an actual track day look more and more attractive....
That being said, I'm really curious to see this iRacing in action...
Jumper,
I like that visionracer seat. I wonder if I could setup my xbox steering wheel on it... Certainly would be an upgrade from my current support, a.k.a. my knees!!
