Mark we may have to look at some game rules as well.
Like RWD only.
No training lines turned on. Real tracks don't have green/red painted lines to show you where the line is.
No traction control
No stability management
Do we force manual gear? Doesn't matter to me though it does make it harder for pad users and cleanme may have to use it.
Do we allow ABS? personally I say turn it off. Learn to threshold brake, again cleanme may have to use it.

Xbox360 wheel users.
For more control of the car and help accelerating out of slow corners. Change advanced settings for acceleration and deceleration deadzones.
The options to change are:
Acceleration deadzone inside: Zero
Acceleration deadzone outside: Full
Deceleration deadzone inside: Zero
Deceleration deadzone outside: Full

Thanks Greg! Played a bit yesterday and moved up to 6 or 7 (don't remember) career level. Kept futzing around to get the audio right...now I'll get the feedback right. Is there anyway to get the brake pedal feel to be more firm? It brakes like an over-boosted 1982 Buick! Even with just wearing socks, it's hard to properly modulate the brakes.

I have heard people will cut a tennis ball/raquet ball in half and stick it behind the brake pedal.
Also someone took a foam ball cut it to size and pushed it behind the brake and gas pedal, they think it works great.

I'd vote for all assists off. I really like about this game that if you lock up the brakes, you're going straight. You gotta get it right. If you come into a corner and brake as you should while the other guys locks them, you should get "credit" for that. I don't like ABS in real life or in video games!
I like the idea of a tennis ball behind the pedal to give at least some feel to the pedal. Both pedals are currently "position" modulated rather than "force modulated". Not ideal. Then again I'll have to stick the pedals to the ground more firmly to make sure the assembly doesn't start sliding if I push stronger...
Question: Being new to this, I'm unclear about the car selection. Do I need to build up a car for each category and use it in our weekend races, or are we all using the same cars?

FYI Porsche that you get in the game for free, so don't buy one.
level 24 gets you a 997 GT2
level 33 #45 GT3 RSR
level 43 #26 porsche AG 1998 GT1
level 45 #7 Penske Racing 2006 RS Sypder

We had a GT1 and GT2 class that used different classed cars but I am not sure we will do this this year. Most guys that ran GT1 cars that were lower class then the GT2 cars couldn't keep up to the GT2 cars. Another thing is that you can only have 8 cars in a race.
Right now, I am just building a Porsche for each class for now. Then working on a paint job for them. At the same time you should check the competition. I have bought a new Z06 and ZR1 and have a C6R with a R3 Racing corvette on order.

Once the list is large enough you'll have a easier time finding rooms that have people with similar taste and where generally racing is clean.
Personally I am tired of joining a race online and it's dominated by 800HP AWD monster cars with no tire, brake or handling upgrades at all and everyone one of them has every assists on. I find there is no point in racing online becuase you can't be competitive unless you do the same thing.

We could also do challenges like spend $50k on a car&upgrades and come Saturday do a fun race?
