using the xbox controller how do you drive the oval tracks? i can't hold the steering .. because each time you adjust steering the wheel moves back to center and i lose control.

you should be able to turn that off. there's usually a "return to center" setting in the main options.
otherwise it's just your controller technique as i've never really had that problem. just practice holding the left analogue stick slightly off center and not letting go of it till after the banks. add more turn in as the sharpness of the corner dictates.

I think playing with the pad you need to keep twitching the stick in the direction you want to go. That's why racing with a pad is totally unrealistic.
I am not sure if you can change your sensitivity to make it a bit slower to responding to the twitching you have to do.
I think if you get more practice using it your able to more finely tune the twitching you have to do. Your thumbs just need to get more finely tuned to the sensitivity of the stick.
The more you play the easier it will become.

It's basically like remapping the throttle in your car if that makes sense?

Sunday, November 15th ... 9:30A
Hey Guys,
For this first weekend of racing, I thought that we would start off with some rating races ... this way we can fairly assess where everyone stands relative to everyone else. As the season progresses, and skills develop (or not!) then drivers can be bumped up or down between the classes. Plus if we have new drivers joining in as the season moves along ... we can have them run the same races, and we can compare their times with everyone else, and slot them in to the appropriate class.
We'll look at each race, and rank each driver based on Fastest Lap & Average Lap Time ... and varience (consistency).
Each race will be (5) Laps of the following tracks:
(1) Road America
(2) Mazda Laguna Seca
(3) Sebring - Full
(4) Road Atlanta - Full
(5) Le Mans Circuit - Old Le Mans
We'll run the "John Cooper Works" 2009 Mini - Totally stock ($27,000 - everyone should be able to afford one by now!) ... no upgrades or tuning ... but you can paint and decal it till your hearts content! Just make sure you have your number on the side doors, rear bumper, and hood ... that way during the inevitable pictures and comentary, we'll know who did what!![rockon](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/rockon.gif)
I'll have my digital camera ready to take a snap shot of the final screen with the finishing positions of each car and times ... if we have more than (8) racers, we'll have to spit off ... so I'll need some one else (Greg?) that can also take a screen picture at the end of each race.
We'll be running with Damage Difficulty = Simulation ... which means you will feel your mistakes! So race within your limits!
Grid Ordering will be set for - Random.
Any other suggestions?
Mark
