right here
I'd stopped by to say hello ... this is the dealership where I bought my 944 a few months ago. They're very honourable and straightforward, unlike most dealerships I've encountered. Definitely worth doing business with.
As for the car, it looks to be in great shape (though I didn't look real close). White, convertible, with a mind-boggling 50,000 km on it, assuming that's accurate (a Carfax check should confirm it).
Asking price is around $13k.
Note: I'm not in any affiliated with these guys, nor will I benefit in any way from a sale. I just like them and thought you all might be interested in the car. Also I figure the fading of summer makes it a good time to buy a convertible. I bought my 944 in winter for $3600 and the guy later complained that he started getting calls from people offering much more for it.
Anyway, just thought I'd pass it along.

I personally love white on these cars. it does sound like a great deal and always have loved the convertible. I don't have the space currently but...what dealership is it?

Something looks strange in the front, I would bet that it had front damage. The bumper is not aligned properly, no badge and the white looks a different shade than the hood.
But like stated before, if everything checks out, it's a good price.

The dealer is listed in the link at the top of the page -- it's Karman Fine Cars.
I didn't notice the front end (though again an accident should show up on a Carfax check). As for the badge, they're often missing on older cars.
Actually they've got some nice cars there, several upscale convertibles (including a glorious mid-60s Mercedes SL).

CARFAX is pretty much superficial......CARPROOF is where it is at.......
I do about 150 of each report every year.....95% of the accidents that show up on CARPROOF do not show up on CARFAX.

sorry missed the link at top. good spotting on the front end. most 44s have the front bumper repainted due to stone chips or minor accident. the gap on the bumper from the photo looks off. again good spot.
did these cars come with tilt steering wheel and traction control? do they mean LSD?

And a rare one at that.
There are a few "must check" things on an S2 - belts, waterpump and clutch of course - but note the cam drive CHAIN and the hydaulic tensioner. If the runner pad fails - it's as bad as a timing belt.
Anyone serioulsly looking at this car - PM me and I'd be happy to relate my S2 experiences over the last 4 years.

These guys know all about Porsches and their foibles. They changed the waterpump and timing/balance belts on my 944 for me for peanuts (I remember the exact price but it was cheap).

Keith, the reason I asked (I actually already knew) is the ad says tilt steering and traction control (checked off in a list, obviously not acurate)

"knowing all about Porsches" is a pretty broad statement.
So - replace the "J" pipe or not when you do the tensioner? Or just the pad? Top or bottom or both??? I'll bet they can't answer any of these q's about that car - and that's just one (critical) component. (And I'm NO expert about this stuff, there's tons more to know)
Again - not to dis them direclty - they might be reputable (and maybe even 944 experts) but I would STILL have a serious, independent 944-savvy shop look at the car before purchase. If Karmann we're a "known" 944 shop - we'd have heard about them in the many recent "what shop do I go to in the GTA" threads that we've been punting about recently. Perhaps they should be added to the list?? If not...
Caveat emptor.

...yeah, you can change the top pad without removing the tensioner...but the bottom pad is the one that will break apart and wreck the engine. when I serviced my tensioner at 130,000 kms, the j tube looked like it was new as well did the tensioner unit itself. I switched pads and moved on to wait for another 60KMS.
BTW a good price IMO IF the car is straight and true with 0 accidents.

A man who knows his twin-cam porsche engines! And that's my point - if you don't - and the dealer doesn't, or doesn't tell you - you're in for a world of hurt.
Precisely why that independed PPI is so crucial.
I'd agree - this seems like a good deal if the car is good.
