Putting car away when?
Did the final wash, wax and vacuum yesterday - had a fantastic day for it. Oil is already changed; not much more to do - will top off gas, add stabilizer and inflate tires. Soooo, within the next couple of weeks, likely the w/end of the 11th or the 18th it will go into the heated garage - sniff, sniff
Will I still be allowed at the Sat. morning get togethers?

Yeah, you guys are wimps!!!
The 72 stays on the road until the first salt comes. Of course, last year the first salt came around here in the first week of November, so that was depressing. This year I'm pushing for Dec. 1! I'm still hoping to do another lapping day at TMP next weekend.

Mine is done already. I am running 20W50 oil and was not going to run in the cooler weather anyway, then I had the gas smell coming from the car and decided it was a message and it was time to shut her down. Think I found the source of the smell amd parts are on order so that pretty well does it for me.
First salt does it for me.. then it's a final valve adjustment (bottom is done, will tackle the top maybe this weekend), change the oil/filter... and make sure she is full of fuel..pull the battery, and asleep she goes for a few painful months... while she sleeps I get to tinker on other things.. like wheel bearings!!
I cleaned , polished and waxed a little earlier.. but will get a fresh crack at it again in the spring.
Anyone have any recommendations to reconditioning the leather on my seats over the winter? Or do I wait for the heat of the summer and let them cook in a bath of Leatherique?

Pulled mine off the road today. I have been having too much fun driving it to do much work during the warm weather. On the menu during hibernation - rear wheel bearings, timing belts, rollers, seals, waterpump, and replace a noisy lifter.
Finally did mine today, came home from work at lunch time, waht a great day. Took a good run. dropped the oil, wash and waxed. Up here on the winter can come unexpected, lucky to get into November, the days are numbered. Don't know how I wou;d run my cars in the winter. Firstly figured they didn't last 37 years by being winter driven, I have too much respect for them. Secondly I don't know that I could get the webers to interested in the winter. Winter projects: 2.8 engine build and switch, rear suspension bushings and other miscellaneous projects
I put mine away on Oct 21st since track season was over. Then I took it out again on the 29th when I was invited to an open day at the new track in Calabogie.
Goes back under the cover this weekend.
