GTG in the GTA 10am Saturday
#1036
Guys,
I was out at Sherway Gardens for the GTA GTG a few weeks ago and met a few of your for the first time... Black 996 with body kit, anyone remember me? I was complaining at the time about a tire-rubbing issue in the back. Still haven't resolved that problem, but I bought a little camera that I can stick onto my fender and film the wheel. I made a run tonight and it worked great, but I couldn't see any rubbing. I'll take a few more shots and bring my laptop next Saturday (May 2nd), if any of you guys are interested to see..

My car has been in the shop for about 5 weeks. I guess I am happy it is there because it's not a good rain car anyway. Looking forward to getting it back and seeing you guys in a couple/few weeks.

Where do I begin? Since I bought the car the brakes never worked. The pedal has no feel and is like pressing on concrete (That's why I wanted to drive your car that day and see what your brakes felt like). Turns out the master cilynder was the wrong one, and the calipers were rebuilt with the wrong gaskets so the pistons didn't move freely. Then he noticed that there were some cracks in the frame that he welded up. Then he noticed my rear suspension was off by 9 mm, so he fixed that. I got 4 new Toyo T1R tires, I'm getting new power seats installed, a fog light switch (I have the lights, but they weren't connected and there was no switch), and new cigarette lighter (mine is toast), a new fan blower, a new climate control box (when I used to slide a lever over, the entire unit would pop out of the dash, new cables for that as well as the two heater levers between the seats, an oil change, my headlights aimed, and an adjustment to my steering column to remove a clunk.
Once that is all done, I have a bunch of stuff to do myself. A new hood crest, installation of new rear seats in black to match the new black front seats (all seats were previously tan), rear seat belts (my car did not have any), new tail light covers (mine look like hell), and new sill plates (my rubber ones are a mess so I bought some Rennline ones at Hershey).
I aldo bought a dash at Hershey in mint condition, but I need to remove the windshield for that. So when I get around to it I will replace the windshield which is delaminating and get a new gasket as mine leaks and then replace the dash at the same time.
Yes, my car is in the excellent hands of Franzl.

Justin while replacing gaskets in calipers did you have them repainted red? would have been the time to do it.
I need to redo mine but the gaskets are fine, I also want to install the ss brake lines...did you consider this? it makes the pedal a lot harder.
