Greetings from France! Missing the C4S, but tooling around in the rental Audi A3 S-line (TDI) without fear of being charged with street racing is fun. Hope to see you all Sat morning...back in a Porsche!

I'd love to claim that I stood there dodging cars, but in reality I was on a crosswalk. Just came back from an evening stroll on the Champs where I smoked a Partagas #4 Series D bought at the Drugstore Publique (yes they have a fully stocked wine and cigar cellar!)...it's great to have a place to stay 5mins with friends away in the 17e; Ahhh, the good life. Girls are making me broke with stops at Chanel and D & G...I'll be panhandling for gas money when I come home.

A word to the wise: only take women to Paris the last 2 weeks in July. Everything is on sale because of the August holiday. Great shopping. Sure the weather is a bit hot & stinky but it is 50% off everywhere. OK, not Chanel etc but everywhere else. You just turn them loose (with a finite amount of cash & credit) & then go to Jardins Luxembourg & read a book.

I was in Paris & Lyon twice in the last month for biz with New Orleans in between. I am tired. I hope to get to a GTG soon . . .

We were treated to a concert at the Jazz à Vienne . . . Diana Krall & Avishai Cohen in a 2000 yr old Roman theater . . .

Actually all the sales in France started last week. 1st week everything was 30-50% off, this week everything was 50-70%...even at Chanel

Requisite photo...our hotel earlier this week in Challes-les-eaux, Savoie about 1/2 hour from where I grew up.

 

I noticed the 'solde' signs were out in Lyon too. But even then, with the Euro at its current state . . . Enjoy . . .

Ah s*!t, I was all excited yesterday about being able to drive finally I forgot all about my son's soccer turny this weekend. I can't make GTG. Whats one more week after waiting 13 1/2 months. Its just past 0630 and we are off. Have a great day, the weather here looks awesome.
