And it will only get better as the Government was pressed on the new 413 series highway which adds onto the existing 407 series. The public asked why can't we reduce tolls or have the 407 opened to Transport Trucks and the government official noted that the 407 series highways will reach their max capacity in 10 years or by 2034!!!

We all know who the owners of the 407 are right...Cintra Global S.E who are a Spanish infrastructure investment firm. Lovely.

Never been an Olivia fan dating back to Layton days and when I lived in Spadina area. Or perhaps it's the NDP perspective.

I love the recent news of her meeting with bank CEOs to get them to go to 4-5 days in office for downtown employees. To spur growth in the core. They told her to lead by example. Love it.

Rob was a good mayor. Personal issues aside.

Growing up I only ever saw 2 councilors at events held in the west end of the city. Rob and Doug Ford.
Countless times seeing them at Reggae Fest, Caribbana, Salsa on St Clair, International Food Expo, etc.... Not there for photo ops, but to actually meet with the people in cultural settings.

I am starting to take the TTC more because of the traffic. I dropped my car off at Pfaff Tuning this morning and normally I’d Uber back to the office but it would take over an hour. Instead I was dropped off at the new Vaughan TTC stop at highway 7 and it was surprisingly smooth sailing downtown. Plus it gives me an opportunity to mingle with the common man.

The 407 project was sold by Bob Rae. There is a lengthy thread on this. I'm in favour of a choice in level of service - pay more, get better service. That goes especially for health care.

just to point out that people will always only bring up facts that support them.

officially the ' owner" is the Canada Pension plan investment board with controlling interest at 50.01 % shown in your own screen shot. Some of the money is going back into the pension plan for Canadians also. Agreed it should never have been sold off and privatised. but good we wrestled some of it back.

you totally don’t know what you’re talking about. The hwy was sold in 1999. The Rae government ended in 1995

harris sold it to balance the budget short term. Classic case of burning the furniture to heat the house

No...I clearly see that however, with a large stake barely below the majority stake as a Canadian its lovely 43% is owned by a foreign entity while traffic sucks *** here. That was my point or agenda...LOL

Imagine what our CPP would be like owning 93%...

Not sure if a coincidence, but this popped up on my news feed today.

AtkinsRéalis Group Inc. says it plans to sell its stake in the company that owns the Highway 407 ETR toll highway north of Toronto by the end of 2027.
