Default 4 Post Car Lifts

Should be getting my 992 911 C4S this coming Friday. Looking for a 4 post lift, will have my Tesla Model Y below it or on it.

Curious who and what post folks recommend? Seems to be "ALI' and "Non ALI" certified posts, variuos makes, etc so a bit daunting. One installer is recommending the https://directlift.ca/pro-park-8-plus/ but curious what others have used?

Thx!

Depends if you want the best or saving money is more important. IMHO Bendpack is about as good as your going to get for a home storage lift. Many cheaper alternatives.
Cables inside the posts are my preference. Cheaper lifts have the cables outside the posts. Most brands have different sizes to choose from.

Bendpak is glorified chinese junk, though they're popular, affordable, and overall not terrible....and I even own one of their lifts, I wouldn't buy it again.

Rotary or Mohawk would be my first stops, both pricey, but top tier.

Go on garagejournal forum and read all the lift threads you can, that'll give you a good sense of what the options are out there.

Bendpack quality isn’t as good as it used to be. Also, it requires a compressor for the locking mechanism. Direct and Atlas are identical. I have had both and have an Atlas now. Perfectly fine lifts. Get the taller one if you have the ceiling height. Hitting your head on a ramp doesn’t feel good!

Thanks, were you still selling one of yours?

Default Directlift

I had a directlift installed around 2010. Used lots working on my mustang. It was a short high lift model. Enabled me to park my Jeep Wrangler underneath. This model is no longer made. I self installed it. In 2021, I moved and purchased another directlift. They installed.

Never had any issues with either one. I would buy another. Happy to answer any questions.

What makes Bendpak glorified Chinese junk over every other residential storage lift made offshore? Mohawk is a different animal. Storage lifts are two post, not runways.
I owned a Revolution Rotary lift for 15 years. Purchased in 2005 when even their residential lifts were made in the US. Great lift and probably the best at the time. I'd still be using it today if the posts didn't rot out at the bottom. I now have a Bendpak. Other than the the need for compressed air vs a manual leaver to release the locks, the only difference I've noticed is the thickness of the metal used in the columns and the runway. Bendpak not as thick as the 2005 Rotary I owned but I'm not at all concerned that it's not up to the job it's designed for.

Looks like they source a lift and put their retail store name on it. Is it ALI certified? If not your home insurance may not like that if something goes wrong.

Yeah that will be my first question. I doubt they are as I don’t see it listed and I’m sure they’d list it if it was.

Looks like the Direct Lift ProPark8PL is Cad$6k plus installation. Seems like a lot for what it is.

Whats your safety and your car worth?
I think I paid close to $7k installed 3 years ago for my bendpak. $950 of that was install.

Just trying to figure out how much the various models cost. Thought these were closer to $3-4k when I last looked, but that was several years ago.

I received a quote last week from autoloft. $6700 installed for the 4 post 9000lb model plus tax. Also another $2k to raise the rails for my garage door and side mount door opener. 3 week lead time from time of order. I haven’t decided yet to proceed and looking at other options.
