For the few us that follow F1 Stroll put it on pole for tomorrow's Turkish GP - first time a Canuck has done so since Jacques in 97'. Mercedes boys not in the top 5 which is a nice change in scenery!!

Fitting that a Canuck is on pole....
Track is like an ice rink.

Max was in a class of his own until Q3 and he couldn't get the wets to work. I suspect that Lance will be moving back a few spots tomorrow. Still, anything that shakes up the grid is good.

Going to make for an entertaining race:-)
Both Alpha Romeo's in the top 10?? Kimi's ice racing skills obviously proved valuable !!

Funny I used to say the same when with the Ferrari/Schumacher dominent teams back in the day.
Not to take away from Hamiltion because he is a very talented driver, but it's like 80%car/team and 20% driver.
You only have to look at previous champions like Kimi, Vettle, Alonso etc and the teams they are or were on afterwards.

Interesting to see a Canadian on pole since JV in the 90s!
I'm not a Hamilton fan, but congrats to him & the team on 7 World Championships. A record that as a kid I would have never thought would be broken.

I don't get the resentment re Lance. Guy can drive. Most drivers in F1 come from money. It's strange to me how if someone is successful they get respect, but, if their family is successful they don't. I would have tried to be in F1 if my family could have funded it. Also have to think what are people going to say about your kids considering your success and the fact that you drive a Porsche. If I were Lance I would be proud my dad's a billionaire. He seems nice and respectful and has put down some pretty great results.

from Andrew Benson, Chief F1 writer => he once again made decisive strategy calls on tires from the cockpit and drove with the skill and class that has enabled him to put himself in this position.Hamilton's excellence was put into stark perspective by his team-mate Valtteri Bottas.
The Finn went into the race knowing he had to out-score Hamilton by at least eight points to keep the championship alive. But he had a dreadful day, spinning at least five times and finishing 14th, lapped by Hamilton.
When told there were four laps left late in the race, a downcast Bottas said: "I wish it was less."
Red Bull's Max Verstappen pushed Perez hard early on, but a spin at the kink on the back straight ended his hopes - typical Max, when will he understand the gist of what Lewis once told him?

I’d root for Lance just because he’s a Canadian but his dad is the worst ******* in a province filled with ********, and I suspect the apple doesn’t fall far.
So who cares from where he comes from.

Don't you think it is a bit much to call out all inhabitants for one . Lancy boy had 50 engines and two dynos for Karting. Daddy built him his own track.Frankie? Garaga? Prema?
