I'm getting killed this season. Splurged on some new skiis. Tremblant family trip is cancelled due to now being a covid red zone. Red Mountain trip is cancelled due to Covid. Going to be shuffling around in my backyard at this rate!

^^ Nice

Sucks about the red zone, I bet the same will happen at Blue. But it really only closes the food services, the rest is pretty much the same. When we were there last week we had the lifts and Gondola to ourselves, we came with a loaded cooler with all food beverages, etc., and only ate in the room (minus a couple of beaver tails). My biggest concern was if the QPP started to do checkpoints again, so far that has not happened. We also did not stop for fuel at all in Quebec, just got in and got out. The hotel was empty and gave us a nice upgrade.

The PS4 was a great idea, played some STEEP and watch some docs on Prime.

If we do end up skiing at Blue this year I'm bringing a BBQ and camping chairs for the lunchtime tailgate.

Got out to Mt St Louis last weekend (snowboarding). Unsure what it will be like now that it's full public access, but when I went:
- many runs open but many runs still closed
- wait lines were not unreasonable; however far better on the moonstone side
- their new RFID system and the way the staff is handling far exceeded my expectations. For kids though the placement of the RFID sensors can pose some problems
- snow quality was surprisingly good this early in the season. nice and dry, not too mounded up. Was about -2 though so pretty perfect temperature

Tried out my new 'bombsquad' helmet and goggle combo...

C'mon - that's only partially old school - they would need to be Vuarnets to qualify as fully old school!!!!

Yes, I stand corrected. I never used a helmet back in the day or even a hat.

Snow was pretty fast today and not very busy.

Total bull ****, ice rinks, and many others can remain open but not skiing. I agree they should shut down rentals and the lodges, but no reason why the hills can not operate.

Confirmed - I just talked to one of my siblings who was at MSLM this afternoon and they are closing up shop as per Dougie's announcement earlier today.

Must feel sorry for the resorts that have already spent $$$ making snow and setting up processes for distancing in lift lines etc...

But hey, you can go to a driving range or tobogganing hill (seriously, how does this differ from a ski hill?)

I've been going to gyms for decades and have never seen them cleaner.

Meanwhile (allegedly) there have been 400+ cases at the Amazon warehouse. 'Crickets' on that situation.

I can honestly say Blue mountain really had their **** together. More so than any big box store or groceries store that I have been in.

And skiers are also good planners. We dressed at the car, had snack at the car and did not go in any building, and Blue had portable washrooms so there is no need to go in the lodge at all.

So I guess my sons racing school is cancelled as well.

I would be shocked if Alterra is not trying to fight this.

If this is how it goes they better shut down the list of sports that are still allowed, especially ice rinks. Total BS.

I haven't been this year, but I was worried about the corral for getting on the lifts.

I heard from my bro-in-law that Sunday afternoon was busy, and they only skiied an hour. They rented a room for overnight. They got the 5x7 pass, so I guess they bought a day ticket with their room for Sunday.
