Hello guys, is there a place in Ontario where you can drive the car at the manufacturer claimed maximum speed? like 200 kms/hr plus?

Depends on the acceleration rate of the car is question since you would need enough road to reach max speed. Really I can think only a private road course or air strip. I hit 250 kph at CTMP. on the back straight.but it's not long enough to hit the max speed of the car but it would probably be enough for some cars with less top speed but still with great acceleration say like a Lotus.

George,
Toronto Motor Sports Park in Cayuga has packages for track days I believe. I don't know the details but here's a link . https://torontomotorsportspark.com/

I assume you mean legally. only on tracks. But don't think there is a long few miles straight for testing etc. You could look into the texas mile.

Yeah, legally, correct, don't feel like getting into serious trouble. And you are correct too regarding the length, I know about the speed tracks but of course they all have curves and this is what they are meant to be. So the answer is pretty much nowhere around here

Sorry not in Ontario but.....
I know that some on here have shipped their cars to Germany for a holiday and some autobahn driving, I’d like to do that! Although on my visit last year there was so much traffic, construction and more speed limited sections that my rented C-Class rarely saw good speed for more than a few kilometres at a time. I remember when I could leave my foot to the floor for what seemed like ages!

Yes, I had both hands on the wheel. Photo taken by my co-pilot on the German Autobahn.

Where everyone goes ....On the 400 .... Just joking although there was a time when you could go on the 400 early morning or late at night without much worry from the cops ...Those days are long gone ...Unfortunately nowhere nowadays ...and that's a good thing for the masses... too many idiots in Honda's thinking they are driving a Pigani and being total liabilities waiting to happen.

There's an event called Race The Runway at Smiths Fall Airport in August.

There's really no place with enough straight road to get to crazy speeds unless you're driving something jet-powered. CTMP/Mosport would have the highest-speed straight line in the province. and I'd be surprised if anyone tops out at more than 250/260 there. The fastest I've ever been as a passenger is about 240, and as a driver maybe 225-230 (the last thing you're looking at right before you brake for 8 is your speedo). You've got maybe 500m of road before you have to start braking, and you're coming out of the slowest turn on the track, so you're just not going to get that fast.

I use Germany. Best time is 4am on Sunday. No trucks and little traffic. In North America there is an annual event on Hijghway 50 in Nevada where you can legally vMax. Highway closed for the event.

That would turn the mostly-uphill back straight into a mostly downhill run. But be ready for entering Turn 5 at max speed

I think I'd have to brake for that one, even in my Mini
