How can you let it get that bad? This makes we wonder what else is wrong with your car. Having to hold your shifter? Your lack of maintenance is a danger not only to you but other on the track with you.

I'm sure he's just waiting for others to buy him parts like we did for that engine he's running.

Why would you race a car with steering that loose?

Thanks for the audible and visual entertainment. A long long time ago I always enjoyed time trials in the same run group with Mark Anderson's white 928.

There is a lot of stock stuff that hasnt been upgraded, like the shifter covers. nothing that is dangerous, just inconvenient. the sterring rack was an old version with old bushings, that finally wore out. it happens. when it doesn , you replace them. not unsafe, again, just desensitizes the steering. it was getting a lot worse so i decided to dig in an replace. everything on the car is checked before each race. basic nut and bolt. the shifter cover was making the transmission feel like it did when it had an internal problem that i fixed. turns out it was just the old cover. it was breaking down and ive replaced that now too. I have to do all my own work and sometimes i leave things until it starts, effecting the ability to dive the car fast, but its rarely unsafe.

Just like you are sure the 10gram key chain wears out key tumblers.

It was not fun... and was getting worse. I always felt the 928 was a little loose up front, but thought that was due to the stock bushings for many of the components.. turns out it was something very straight forward to replace. glad i did . what a difference!
